Role Overview:
The General Manager - Finance will lead the financial strategy, governance, and operations of the organization, ensuring compliance, fiscal discipline, and strategic alignment with business goals. This role demands deep expertise in financial management, regulatory frameworks, and stakeholder engagement, particularly within the NBFC/CIC ecosystem. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, analytical rigor, and a proactive approach to managing financial risks and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the leadership team for strategic decision-making.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
Regulatory Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure full compliance with RBI regulations, Companies Act, and other statutory requirements applicable to NBFCs/CICs.
- Oversee secretarial functions, board reporting, and corporate governance in line with CS responsibilities.
- Liaise with auditors, regulators, and legal advisors to ensure timely filings and disclosures.
Financial Operations & Controls:
- Manage day-to-day finance operations including accounting, treasury, taxation, and MIS.
- Implement and monitor internal controls, risk management frameworks, and audit processes.
- Drive automation and digitization of finance processes for efficiency and transparency.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across business units to support financial planning and performance.
- Engage with external stakeholders including banks, investors, rating agencies, and regulatory bodies.
- Present financial reports and strategic updates to the Board and senior leadership.
Capital & Risk Management:
- Oversee capital adequacy, liquidity management, and asset-liability matching.
- Monitor financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Support fundraising, debt structuring, and investor relations as required.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and ethical conduct.
- Drive talent development and succession planning within the finance function.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) and/or Company Secretary (CS) qualification is mandatory.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles, preferably in NBFCs or Core Investment Companies (CIC).
- Strong understanding of RBI regulations, IND-AS, corporate law, and financial compliance.
- Proven track record in strategic financial planning, stakeholder management, and team leadership.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
