Position: General Manager - Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)

Reporting To: AVP - Quality & EHS
Role Summary:
The General Manager - EHS will be responsible for driving the organization's Environment, Health & Safety strategy across manufacturing plants, corporate offices, sales offices, and distribution centres. The role focuses on building a strong safety culture, ensuring statutory compliance, strengthening governance, managing risks, and leading sustainability initiatives while driving continuous improvement in EHS performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define the organization's EHS vision, policies, and long-term strategic roadmap.
- Lead EHS excellence initiatives to strengthen the overall safety culture.
- Conduct Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA) and implement effective control measures.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Develop EHS capability-building programs and training frameworks for plant teams and line managers.
- Drive sustainability initiatives related to environment, occupational health, and workplace safety.
- Establish and monitor leading and lagging EHS performance KPIs.
- Lead statutory audits, certifications, compliance reviews, and corrective action programs.
- Promote continuous improvement through proactive risk management and operational excellence.

Eligibility:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (Mandatory)
- Postgraduate qualification or Diploma in Industrial Safety / Environment preferred.
Experience:
- 12+ years of experience in Environment, Health & Safety within manufacturing.
- Minimum 2 years in a leadership role managing EHS in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in unionized manufacturing facilities is preferred.
