General Manager - Education Operations

Role & responsibilities:

1. Student Lifecycle & Re-Registration Management

- Oversee the complete student re-registration process for all programs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion.

- Develop strategies and communication plans to improve re-registration rates and reduce student dropouts.

- Collaborate with Student Success and Academic teams to identify and address barriers to student progression and graduation.

2. Student Experience & Engagement

- Implement proactive outreach programs to engage learners throughout their academic journey.

- Continuously monitor student satisfaction, identify recurring challenges, and implement process improvements.

- Oversee effective functioning of the student query management system, ensuring timely and empathetic resolution.

- Design initiatives that strengthen student-faculty and student-institution connections.

3. Academic Operations & Coordination

- Collaborate closely with academic leadership to develop and maintain the academic calendar, schedules, and exam timelines.

- Ensure smooth coordination between academic, admissions, examination, and student success teams.

- Anticipate academic and administrative resource needs to support program delivery at scale.

4. Data Analytics & Reporting

- Analyze operational and student data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

- Track metrics related to student retention, re-registration, graduation rates, and service quality.

- Present actionable insights and reports to leadership for strategic decision-making.

5. Budgeting & Financial Planning

- Prepare and manage the annual operations budget, including forecasts for student registration revenues and operational costs.

- Monitor expenditures against the approved budget and ensure cost efficiency across operations.

- Support financial planning for new initiatives, process automation, and technology adoption.

6. Team Leadership & Collaboration

- Lead and mentor cross-functional operational teams to drive accountability and performance.

- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

- Liaise with technology, finance, and HR departments to ensure alignment with institutional policies.

Preferred candidate profile:

- MBA, specialization in Operations or Marketing will be preferred

- Minimum 15 years of post-qualification work experience in which at least 6 - 7 years of experience in leadership role of student, academic operations with large Universities or EdTech focused at Working Professional Programs

- Budget and Planning of student operations, academic preparations like academic calendar, exam planning, student query resolution systems and technical knowledge of CRM tools
