Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic General Manager - HR to lead and drive Human Resources across both Corporate and Plant Operations. The ideal candidate must bring 20+ years of rich HR experience, with a solid foundation in Plant HR and current exposure to Corporate HR leadership. This role demands a strong business partner mindset, experience in driving change, building scalable HR systems, and a deep understanding of labor laws and compliance relevant to a manufacturing setup.
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate HR:
- Lead all corporate HR functions including talent acquisition, performance management, L&D, employee engagement, and HR strategy.
- Partner with senior leadership to drive organizational effectiveness, culture building, and succession planning.
- Design and implement HR policies aligned with business goals and compliance standards.
- Oversee Compensation & Benefits strategy and workforce planning across functions.
- Lead HR digital transformation and automation initiatives.
Manufacturing / Plant HR:
- Serve as the HR lead for multiple plants and manufacturing sites.
- Drive all aspects of plant HR operations: IR, labor law compliance, contract labor management, time office, safety practices, and grievance handling.
- Build strong relationships with plant leadership and union representatives.
- Monitor and ensure harmonious industrial relations, proactively resolving conflicts and labor issues.
- Lead workforce productivity and skilling programs at the shop floor level.
Desired Candidate Profile:
Experience:
- Minimum 20 years of progressive HR experience with at least 5-10 years in Plant HR and recent experience in Corporate HR leadership roles.
Industry Preference: Manufacturing / Engineering / Auto / FMCG / Consumer Durables.
- Strong exposure to labor laws, factory compliance, and IR best practices.
- Proven experience in managing HR across multi-location plants.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving orientation.
Educational Qualifications: MBA / PGDM in HR from a reputed institute.
Location: Gurgaon (Must be willing to travel to plants as per business need)
