General Manager/Complex Head - Plant Operations - Chemical Manufacturing Firm

A large chemical manufacturing organization is hiring a senior operations leader to head its integrated Caustic Soda / Chlor-Alkali complex and Captive Power Plant.

Location: Dahej, Gujarat

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations & Engineering Leadership

- Lead and oversee plant operations and engineering functions across the chemical complex

- Ensure safe, continuous, and cost-efficient production, minimizing downtime and disruptions

- Apply strong expertise in chemical process technologies and manufacturing best practices.

2. Strategic Planning & Project Execution

- Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with organizational goals

- Lead project implementation, ensuring delivery within timelines and budgets

- Coordinate with internal stakeholders on raw materials, coal, power, infrastructure, logistics, marketing, and dealer networks

3. Resource & Team Management

- Optimize utilization of manpower, materials, and assets

- Build, mentor, and lead multi-disciplinary teams with strong governance

- Manage operation and maintenance contracts as required

4. Safety, Security & Environmental Oversight

- Ensure compliance with safety, security, and environmental regulations

- Promote a strong safety-first culture

- Maintain effective relationships with local communities and statutory authorities

5. Administration & Stakeholder Management

- Prepare and present management and board-level reports

- Coordinate with internal functions such as Finance, Purchase, and Marketing

- Demonstrate high integrity, sound judgment, and discretion in decision-making

Education :

- B.E./B.Tech. (Chemical / Mechanical) - Full-time from a recognized institute

- Post Graduate in Management from a reputed institute (preferred)

Experience - 26-28 years of post-qualification experience

Strong exposure to:

- Caustic Chlorine / Caustic Soda plant operations

- Project implementation

- Material management, marketing, and strategic planning

- Preferably experience in captive power plants

- Minimum 5 years in a Plant Head / equivalent senior leadership role

- Experience reporting to Managing Director and Board of Directors preferred

- Relaxation in experience may be considered for exceptional candidates
