General Manager - Capital Strategy

GM - Capital Strategy

Location: Harare, Zimbabwe

Reporting to: Founder / Group CEO

About the role

This is a high-ownership role working closely with the Founder to drive the company's capital raising agenda across existing businesses and new growth projects. The role will focus primarily on debt raising, trade finance, project finance, and lender relationship management in a complex operating environment.

Key responsibilities

- Lead debt and trade finance raising for existing and new businesses

- Build and manage relationships with banks, lenders, DFIs, and financial partners

- Structure funding solutions for working capital, trade finance, and capital projects

- Support greenfield / expansion projects with capital structuring and execution

- Work closely with the Founder on capital strategy and funding priorities

- Support cross-border / international structures where relevant

What we are looking for

- CA / MBA Finance

- 5 to 8 years of relevant post qualification experience

- Strong experience in debt raising, trade finance, project finance, or structured finance

- Candidates from corporate finance, treasury, project finance, structured finance, or corporate banking backgrounds preferred

- Strong lender management and transaction execution capability

- Hands-on, commercially sharp, and comfortable working in a fast-moving, non-corporate environment

- Africa / emerging market exposure is highly preferred

- Relocate to Harare is a requirement

This role is not for

- Pure FP&A / reporting profiles

- Pure advisory / investment banking profiles without execution ownership

- Candidates who have not directly handled lenders or closed financing transactions

- Candidates not willing to relocate to Zimbabwe
