Purpose - Why does this role exist?:

The Head - Capex Service Procurement (Construction Services) is responsible for leading the end-to-end procurement of construction services for the ISP expansion project. This role ensures that civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural service packages are procured with strict adherence to safety, cost, quality, and timeline objectives. The position plays a critical role in risk mitigation, supplier development, and contract governance, ensuring that the project is executed in line with global best practices and audit requirements.

Key Result Areas (Key Performance Indicators):

- 1. Ensure alignment with project safety goals, budgets, schedules, and compliance requirements.

- 2. Develop and implement procurement strategies for construction services procurement that include civil works, mechanical, electrical, and structural packages.

- 3. Take ownership and implement the operating procedures that are devised to ensure effective planning, efficient execution, risks mitigation through right contracting modality and commercial term sheet according to the best industry practices.

- 4. Cost benchmarking and estimates.

- 5. Develop and maintain fit for purpose and adequate supplier base to meet and deliver the project's progress objectives.

- 6. Collaborate with internal customers/stakeholders to resolve bottlenecks and smooth execution. Ensure approvals and reporting requirements are fulfilled to comply with the governance and audit requirements.

Critical Tasks (Key Activities):

- 1. Develop supplier base and contracting strategies.

- 2. Lead structured negotiations and finalize commercial term sheets.

- 3. Ensure documentation governance and compliance with audit frameworks.

Education Qualification and Certifications:

BE/BTech with minimum 15 years of experience in the procurement function of top tier construction/EPC/ EPCM company operating in the Indian market. Desirable - PG in Construction Management from NICMAR/Reputed Institute or MBA in Operations Management.

Relevant Experience:

- 15+ years in procurement within top-tier construction/EPC/ EPCM companies in India.

- Prior experience in leading negotiations for high value strategic contracts exceeding INR 500 Crores.

- Well exposed to various contract modalities in large construction projects - EPC, EPCM, LSTK, Unit Rate etc.

- Have managed a team of senior experienced buyer team.

Skills and Competencies:

- Expertise in contract modalities (EPC, EPCM, LSTK, Unit Rate).

- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

- Strategic thinking with commercial acumen and risk mitigation orientation.

- Leadership in managing senior procurement teams.
