We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager Business Development to lead and drive business growth in our EPC division (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in identifying new opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and converting leads into EPC contracts across sectors such as Solar Photovoltaic, Semiconductor, EV Battery Cell, Green Energy and industrial projects.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Planning & Business Growth:

- Develop and implement the business development strategy for EPC projects.

- Identify new markets, customers, and opportunities across domestic and international regions.


- Set short- and long-term sales targets and ensure achievement through strategic planning.


Client & Stakeholder Engagement:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, consultants, and industry stakeholders.

- Lead client negotiations, presentations, and deal closures.


Bid Management & Tendering:

- Oversee the sales team preparation of RFQs, RFPs, and technical-commercial proposals in coordination with tendering and estimating teams.

- Analyze tender requirements, develop win strategies, and ensure timely submission.


Market Intelligence:

- Conduct regular market research to understand industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments.

- Provide insights to management for proactive decision-making.


Cross-functional Coordination:

- Collaborate with engineering, project management, legal, and finance teams to structure feasible and competitive project proposals.

- Support project handovers from Business development to Project execution teams post-award.


Team Leadership:

- Lead and mentor a team of business development professionals.

- Monitor teams performance (KRA Setting and review) and implement training and development as needed.


Qualifications & Experience:


- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical/Electrical); MBA is preferred.

- Minimum 12+ years of experience in business development roles within the EPC industry, Capital Equipment or Solution Engineering, with at least 5 years in a mid to senior leadership position.


- Industry experience of Capital Equipment Sales / Business Development for use of Speciality Gases, Chemicals, Ultra-Pure Water, Exhaust / Abatement solutions will be advantageous.

- Proven track record of winning large-scale EPC projects (>$25M).

- Strong network in the Solar cell manufacturing Industry, Speciality Gases or industrial construction sectors.

- Experience to pursue long sales cycle from opportunity to conversion.

- Strategic thinking and business acumen, Persuasive style

- Strong negotiation and communication skills

- Ability to build and maintain C-level relationships

- In-depth understanding of EPC project lifecycle and commercial models

- Leadership and multi-functional team management (Engineers, Designers, MIS, Commercial)

- Willingness to travel as required

- Workflow through ERP / Salesforce / BI Tools
