Position: General Manager Brand Management


Location: Mumbai


Reports To: CMO


Experience: 1018 years


Education: MBA/PGDM (Tier 1/Tier 2 preferred)


Role Overview:


The GM Brand Management will lead the overall brand strategy, positioning, communication, and portfolio growth roadmap. This role requires a strong blend of strategic thinking, creative judgment, business acumen, and consumer understanding. The incumbent will drive brand equity, new product launches, media strategy, and cross-functional alignment across sales, R&D, supply chain, and finance.


A core brand marketing professional is responsible for building, strengthening, and growing the brands equity by deeply understanding consumers, crafting compelling brand strategies, and driving impactful communication across all touchpoints. The role blends strategic thinking, creativity, analytics, and strong execution capabilities to ensure the brand remains relevant, differentiated, and scalable in a competitive market.


Key Responsibilities:


Brand Strategy & Positioning:


- Define long-term brand vision, identity, and market positioning.


- Develop annual brand plans, marketing calendars, and growth frameworks.


- Ensure brand consistency across all consumer touchpoints.


Communication & Campaign Development:


- Lead the development of 360 brand campaignsTV, digital, print, outdoor, social.


- Work closely with creative and media agencies to drive high-impact storytelling.


- Ensure all campaigns strengthen brand imagery and recall.


Agency Management:


- Manage relationships with creative, media, digital, and research partners.


- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality brand assets and campaigns.


P&L Ownership:


- Own brand-level P&L performance, revenue targets, and profitability.


- Optimize pricing, promotions, and A&P spends.


Consumer Insights & Market Understanding:


- Decode consumer behavior and translate insights into brand strategy.


- Track category trends, competition moves, and market opportunities.


Innovation & NPD:


- Lead new product development strategy and execution.


- Coordinate with R&D and supply chain for innovation pipeline management.


- Manage GTM planning, packaging, and product positioning.


Media, Digital & Communication:


- Drive integrated marketing campaigns across TV, digital, print, and OOH.


- Lead media planning in partnership with creative and media agencies.


- Ensure digital-first thinking and performance tracking.


Team Leadership:


- Lead, coach, and develop brand managers and cross-functional project teams.


- Build a high-performance marketing culture.


Stakeholder Management:


- Work closely with sales, trade marketing, finance, and leadership teams.


- Present brand reviews, performance dashboards, and strategic recommendations to senior management.


Key Skills & Competencies:


- Strong understanding of business and brand-building fundamentals.


- Ability to convert insights into actionable brand strategies.


- Strong creative judgment and experience managing agencies.


- Analytical thinking with strong command over numbers and P&L.


- Leadership, team management, and cross-functional collaboration.
