Were looking for an accomplished Head of Sales (GM/AVP) to lead strategic sales initiatives, drive business growth, and strengthen market leadership within the personal care and manufacturing industry.
This role carries P&L responsibility and is critical in shaping topline growth through strategic partnerships, market expansion, and strong sales execution. The ideal candidate is a results driven leader with deep experience in B2B manufacturing, customer relationship management, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Sales Leadership
- Translate corporate goals into actionable sales plans for different market segments.
- Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities and growth channels (including D2C brands, MNCs, and private labels).
- Oversee the end-to-end sales pipeline and ensure achievement of topline targets.
2. Customer & Market Development
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key clients, brand owners, and industry partners.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and retention through proactive engagement and problem solving.
- Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive movements to refine sales strategy.
- Develop KPI trackers and customer delight dashboards to measure and enhance performance.
3. Team Management & Capability Building
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
- Set clear sales targets and conduct monthly performance reviews and key account plan analyses.
- Build organizational capability through CRM tools and tech-driven sales processes.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with R&D, Supply Chain, Finance, and Manufacturing to ensure customer commitments are met.
- Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to align sales plans with brand positioning and go-to-market strategies.
- Ensure smooth coordination with export/import, packaging, and production teams for on-time delivery (OTIF).
5. Revenue Management & Business Analytics
- Oversee sales forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure pricing aligns with profitability and market competitiveness.
- Analyze customer, financial, and operational data to drive decisions and forecast accuracy.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Achievement of annual and quarterly revenue targets
- Market share growth across key personal care categories (skincare, haircare, cosmetics, soaps,
etc.)
- Customer retention and satisfaction scores
- Sales team performance and productivity metrics
- New business development and account acquisition
- Forecast accuracy and data-driven planning
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- Proven track record in strategic sales planning and execution
- Strong conceptual understanding of key account management and CRM tools
- Analytical mindset with expertise in data-driven decision-making
- Updated knowledge of personal care market trends and competitive landscape
- Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and influence senior stakeholders
Who We Are Looking For
- 12-15 years of experience in sales leadership within the manufacturing or personal care sector
- Proven ability to manage P&L, lead large teams, and drive business growth
- Experience managing diverse client portfolios from large MNCs to D2C brands
- MBA from a top-tier B-School preferred
