About the Client :

Our client is a leading Indian hospitality group with a strong and growing portfolio of premium hotel assets across India. The organization is looking to hire a seasoned asset management professional to drive portfolio performance, operational alignment, profitability enhancement, and long-term asset value preservation across hospitality assets.

This is a high-visibility leadership role at the corporate office, working closely with senior leadership, hotel operations teams, finance stakeholders, and property leadership teams.

Role Overview :

The General Manager - Asset Management will represent the owner's interests in overseeing the financial and operational performance of the hospitality portfolio. The role requires a strong understanding of hotel operations, asset optimization, commercial performance, and stakeholder management.

The incumbent will work closely with hotel leadership and corporate functions to ensure optimal revenue performance, cost efficiency, compliance adherence, and long-term asset enhancement.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Budgeting & Performance Management :

- Monitor financial and operational performance across the hotel portfolio, including revenue, profitability, occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, GOP, and EBITDA metrics

- Review asset performance against annual business plans, budgets, and forecasts; recommend and drive corrective actions where required

- Prepare and present periodic MIS and performance reports covering financial, operational, compliance, and customer metrics

- Conduct variance analysis (Actual vs Budget/Forecast) and benchmark performance against market and industry standards

- Partner closely with Operations teams to review forecasts, cost structures, and key performance drivers

- Participate in operational reviews, business reviews, and pegboard meetings

2. Revenue Monitoring & Enhancement :

- Evaluate sales and marketing strategies to improve topline performance across hotels and F&B outlets

- Identify revenue enhancement opportunities across business segments and operational areas

- Assess effectiveness of marketing and promotional spends and recommend optimization initiatives

- Track competitor performance, market trends, pricing benchmarks, and demand dynamics

3. Asset Value Preservation :

- Conduct periodic property inspections to evaluate physical asset condition, maintenance standards, and overall guest experience

- Recommend refurbishment, maintenance, repairs, and capital improvement initiatives

- Coordinate with Projects and Operations teams for timely execution of planned and ad-hoc maintenance activities

- Monitor execution quality, timelines, and closure of identified actions

4. Cost Management & Optimization :

- Analyze manpower, operating costs, consumables, and other expense heads across the portfolio

- Identify inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities while maintaining service standards

- Review rebates, discounts, allowances, complimentaries, and potential revenue leakages

- Monitor receivables and payables cycles to ensure financial discipline and cash flow efficiency

5. Procurement & Capex Governance :

- Ensure adherence to procurement policies and governance processes across properties

- Drive CAPEX and FF&E governance from evaluation and approval to procurement and execution

- Review major purchase requests, vendor contracts, and commercial terms

- Track procurement timelines and escalate operational or project risks where required

6. Compliance & Risk Management :

- Partner with Corporate Affairs, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements

- Track closure of audit observations and compliance gaps within defined timelines

- Identify and escalate operational, financial, and regulatory risks proactively

7. Stakeholder Management :

- Build strong relationships with General Managers, Finance Heads, and key functional leaders across hotels

- Establish structured communication and review mechanisms with Operations teams

- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve portfolio performance and alignment with ownership objectives

Candidate Profile :

- MBA / PGDM from a premier institute preferred

- 10-16 years of relevant experience in hospitality finance, hotel operations, consulting, or asset management

- Strong understanding of hospitality financials, commercial performance, and operational metrics

- Hands-on exposure to P&L management and business performance reviews

- Prior experience in owner-side asset management, hospitality advisory, or hotel consulting will be an advantage

- Strong familiarity with hospitality KPIs including RevPAR, ADR, GOP, and EBITDA

- Excellent analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills

- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work across functions and properties

- Strategic thinker with strong execution orientation and attention to detail
