We are scouting for a seasoned legal leader to join our leadership team as General Counsel. With 15+ years of experience across the legal gamut, the ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in corporate law, compliance, contracts, and regulatory frameworks, ideally with exposure to startup or fintech environments. This role is based in Mumbai or Bangalore.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 15+ years of progressive legal experience, ideally spanning corporate, commercial, compliance, and regulatory domains.
- Proven track record of leading teams of 10+ professionals across India or globally.
- Strong pedigree with exposure to startup or fintech ecosystems.
- Exceptional ability to partner with leadership on strategic decisions and influence outcomes.
- Expertise in contracts, compliance, corporate governance, and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Legal Leadership: Partner with CXO-level leadership to shape and influence strategic decisions across the organization.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of 10+ legal professionals across India and globally, fostering excellence and collaboration.
- Legal Oversight: Provide end-to-end guidance on corporate governance, compliance, contracts, intellectual property, employment law, and regulatory matters.
- Risk Management: Anticipate, identify, and mitigate legal risks while enabling business growth and innovation.
- Fintech/Startup Expertise: Navigate complex regulatory landscapes in banking, payments, and fintech, ensuring compliance with evolving laws and industry standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, technology, and business teams to enable innovation while safeguarding legal interests.
- Global Perspective: Manage cross-border legal issues and ensure alignment with international best practices.
