Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Location: Hyderabad

Industry: Construction & Fertilizer Manufacturing


Reports To: Managing Director / Board of Directors


Role Overview


The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, planning, risk management, and financial reporting of the company. The role requires strong expertise in handling large-scale infrastructure projects and manufacturing operations, ensuring financial discipline, regulatory compliance, and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy & Leadership

- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives.

- Provide strategic recommendations to the MD/Board on financial performance and growth opportunities.

- Lead long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

2. Financial Management & Reporting

- Oversee preparation of financial statements, MIS reports, and dashboards.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation laws, and regulatory requirements.

- Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure efficiently.

3. Project Finance & Cost Control (Construction Division)

- Monitor project costing, budgeting, and profitability of construction projects.

- Evaluate project feasibility, IRR, and ROI.

- Ensure proper billing cycles, contract management, and cost optimization.

4. Manufacturing & Operational Finance (Fertilizer Division)

- Oversee cost accounting, inventory management, and production cost control.

- Monitor raw material procurement, pricing, and margin analysis.

- Ensure financial efficiency in plant operations and supply chain.

5. Risk Management & Compliance

- Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.

- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, audits, and internal controls.

- Liaise with auditors, banks, financial institutions, and government authorities.

6. Fundraising & Investor Relations

- Manage relationships with banks, NBFCs, and investors.


- Lead fundraising activities including debt, equity, and project finance.


- Maintain strong credit ratings and financial credibility.

7. Taxation & Regulatory Affairs

- Oversee direct and indirect taxation (GST, Income Tax, etc.).

- Ensure timely filing of returns and compliance with government policies.

- Handle assessments, notices, and litigation if any.

8. Team Leadership

- Build and lead a high-performing finance and accounts team.

- Drive automation, ERP implementation, and financial process improvements.

Key Skills & Competencies

- Strong financial acumen and strategic thinking


- Expertise in project finance & cost control


- Knowledge of construction contracts & manufacturing costing


- Leadership and stakeholder management


- Risk assessment and compliance management


- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills


Qualifications

- Chartered Accountant (CA) / MBA (Finance) from a reputed institution

- Additional certifications (CFA, CPA) preferred

Experience

- 20+ years of experience in finance roles

- Minimum 5-8 years in senior leadership position

- Experience in construction/infrastructure and manufacturing (fertilizer/chemical) industries is highly preferred
