Job Summary:
The Furniture Merchandiser is responsible for planning, developing, and executing product assortments, pricing strategies, and display plans for furniture categories to maximize sales, profitability, and customer experience. This role involves working closely with buying, design, supply chain, retail operations, and marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Assortment & Planning
- Strong understanding of furniture materials, finishes, construction techniques, and consumer trends.
- Curate furniture collections based on trend analysis, customer preferences, and market demand.
- Maintain a balanced and commercially viable product mix across various categories (sofas, beds, tables, etc.).
- Collaborate with design and sourcing teams for new product development and range finalization.
Vendor & Supplier Coordination
- Liaise with domestic and international vendors for product samples, pricing, and quality checks.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and minimum order quantities.
- Monitor inventory levels, sell-through rates, and initiate stock replenishment or markdowns.
- Coordinate with VM team to ensure optimal in-store furniture layouts and aesthetics.
- Research industry trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback.
- Present regular reports on category performance and strategic recommendations.
- Excellent negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel to vendors, factories, and store locations when required.
