Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Freight and Transportation Leader to lead the enterprise freight program from India. The role will partner closely with U.S.-based leadership and Business Units to improve cost, service, visibility, analytics, and operational discipline across the freight organization.

Freight is directly contracted with carriers, with no 3PL involvement. The leader will champion carrier rate negotiations and contract strategy, while the Logistics Manager and team will manage much of the day-to-day carrier management, contracting, planning, and performance execution.

A significant focus of the role will be freight analytics and business intelligence. An analyst will run the underlying numbers, while the leader will establish the framework, provide direction, and translate insights into actionable business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and lead the overall enterprise freight and transportation strategy.

- Champion carrier negotiations, rates, contracts, and commercial strategy.

- Lead and develop a team of 7 transportation professionals supporting U.S. operations.

- Establish the structure, KPIs, and priorities for freight analytics and business intelligence.

- Guide analysts in identifying cost, service, carrier, and operational insights from freight data.

- Partner closely and, when required, daily with Business Units, Procurement, Finance, Customer Experience, and Technology.

- Drive freight cost optimization, carrier performance, visibility, and operational improvements.

- Provide strategic direction while the Logistics Manager and team execute day-to-day transportation activities.

- Lead technology, process-improvement, and automation initiatives within the freight function.

- Present clear recommendations, insights, and performance results to U.S.-based leadership.

Ideal Candidate:

- 12+ years of experience in freight, transportation, logistics, or supply chain.

- Proven experience managing U.S. carriers and carrier relationships.

- Strong background in freight rate negotiations, contracts, cost optimization, and carrier performance.

- Strong analytical and strategic mindset with the ability to convert freight data into actionable business insights.

- Experience leading teams and working directly with U.S.-based leadership and stakeholders.

- Excellent, concise, and effective communication skills.

- Comfortable working across U.S. time zones and providing extended U.S. business-hour coverage when required.

- Experience with freight analytics, TMS, transportation visibility, Power BI/Tableau, or similar tools is preferred.
