About the Role:

We are looking for a highly experienced Freelance Supply Chain Consultant with strong domain expertise in the chemical industry to support strategic and operational projects. The consultant will be responsible for optimizing supply chain performance, driving cost efficiencies, and improving end-to-end visibility across procurement, production, logistics, and distribution functions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Analyze current supply chain processes across sourcing, manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution

- Identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities specific to the chemical sector (e.g., hazardous material handling, compliance, bulk transportation)

- Design and implement supply chain strategies (e.g., demand planning, network optimization, lead time reduction)

- Evaluate suppliers and raw material sourcing models in line with REACH, GHS, and other regulatory frameworks

- Support clients in adopting digital tools (e.g., ERP/SAP, SCM platforms)

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (procurement, planning, EHS, quality)

- Deliver project reports, dashboards, and implementation roadmaps

Requirements:

- 20+ years of experience in supply chain roles, with at least 10+ years in the chemical or allied industries

- Proven track record in supply chain transformation, S&OP, or logistics optimization

- Strong understanding of chemical-specific regulations and safety protocols

- Proficiency in tools like SAP, Oracle SCM, or other ERP systems

- Excellent analytical, communication, and client-facing skills

- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver within timelines

Preferred Qualifications:

- B.E./B.Tech in Chemical/Industrial Engineering or related fields

- MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, or Logistics (preferred)

- Experience working with global chemical firms or consulting projects
