Role Overview:
We are seeking a high-impact Franchise Development Manager to lead state-level retail expansion through the franchise model. This role is responsible for identifying growth opportunities, onboarding strong franchise partners, and ensuring successful end-to-end execution of new franchise store launches across the assigned state.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in franchise setup, deep understanding of local markets, and the ability to work cross-functionally to scale a retail footprint efficiently and profitably.
Key Responsibilities:
Franchise Expansion & Partner Development:
- Drive state-wide franchise expansion strategy in line with organizational growth objectives
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suitable franchise partners aligned with brand standards
- Lead negotiations, commercial discussions, and closure of franchise agreements
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with franchise partners
Market Research & Feasibility:
- Conduct detailed market research, catchment analysis, and location feasibility studies
- Evaluate site potential based on footfall, demographics, competition, and ROI metrics
- Recommend optimal locations and expansion plans for the assigned geography
End-to-End Franchise Setup:
- Manage the entire franchise lifecycle from partner onboarding to store launch
- Coordinate with internal teams such as real estate, legal, finance, design, supply chain, and operations
- Ensure timely completion of store setup activities including fit-outs, branding, and pre-launch readiness
- Monitor adherence to brand guidelines, operational standards, and timelines
Performance & Expansion Management:
- Own and deliver state-level expansion targets (store count, timelines, and revenue impact)
- Track performance of newly launched franchise stores and flag risks early
- Provide inputs to leadership on expansion progress, challenges, and growth opportunities
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as the single point of contact between franchise partners and internal stakeholders
- Work closely with operations and training teams to ensure smooth handover post-launch
- Support franchise partners during initial stabilization phase
Key Skills & Competencies:
Must-Have Skills:
- Proven hands-on experience in setting up franchise retail stores
- Strong understanding of local and regional markets (Uttarakhand or Telangana preferred)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- High willingness to travel extensively within the state
Functional & Behavioral Competencies:
- Strategic thinking with strong execution capability
- Commercial acumen and understanding of franchise economics
- Result-oriented mindset with ownership of targets
- Strong interpersonal skills and partner relationship management
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field
- MBA or equivalent qualification is preferred (not mandatory)
