Our client is a large, diversified industrial enterprise in the building materials sector with a nationwide manufacturing and distribution footprint, having a turnover in excess of Rs.10K Crs.

We are 20 million ton cement manufacturing company with four integrated units and four grinding units spread over pan India with a revenue of about Rs. 100 million pa.

The Company has progressively adopted information technology across various business functions over the years. While these investments have enabled automation of several processes, the current IT landscape has evolved through multiple initiatives undertaken at different points in time. As a result, different business functions operate on a combination of enterprise applications, specialised software, spreadsheets and standalone systems, resulting in varying degrees of integration, duplication of effort and manual intervention.

The rapid evolution of digital technologies-including cloud computing, cybersecurity, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), industrial automation and intelligent decision support systems-has fundamentally changed the role of Information Technology. IT is no longer merely a support function; it has become a strategic enabler of business growth, operational excellence, governance, risk management and competitive advantage.

Recognising this shift, the Company intends to undertake a comprehensive review of its existing digital ecosystem and develop a long-term enterprise-wide digital transformation roadmap that is aligned with its business strategy, organisational culture and future growth plans.

To facilitate this initiative, the Company proposes to engage an experienced Fractional Chief Information Officer (CIO) / Enterprise Digital Transformation Advisor for a fixed-term engagement.

Broad Scope of Work

1. Enterprise Digital Assessment.

Understand business processes across all major functions, assess the maturity of current IT operations / IT architecture and identify gaps in the application landscape.

2. Enterprise Process Integration.

The objective shall be to recommend an enterprise-wide operating model that enables seamless flow of information across functions like procurement, finance, sales, logistics, marketing, Legal, HR etc., eliminating isolated systems, duplicate data entry, repetitive reporting and departmental silos. This may be in one ERP or various software to interact with common data pool.

3. ERP (Existing is SAP) strategy.

Assess the existing SAP application and guide for taking decision whether its upgradation to SAP RISE to be undertaken or any new ERP like RAMCO to be implemented.

4. Infrastructure and Cloud Strategy.

To guide which infrastructure should be SaaS and which should be internal. Governance, Risk management, Network security, Data protection and Disaster recovery. Also, review statutory compliance issues.

5. Data Analytics and management, Artificial Intelligence

Standardisation of Management Information system across the organisation operating on a single source of truth, eliminating spreadsheet reports and providing predictive, AI-enabled decision support.

6. Organisation structure of IT department and governance

Review the present IT organisation structure and recommend internal capability requirements.

7. Manufacturing Automation.

Review the Company's manufacturing technology ecosystem including plant automation systems and assess for real-time operational visibility at a central location. Implement AI-based predictive maintenance, energy optimisation, and productivity efficiency.

Recommendations shall be based on demonstrated business value and measurable economic benefits

Main deliverables

- What should be the Company's digital architecture over the next five to ten years?

- What business processes require redesign before technology investments are undertaken?

- What should constitute the Company's future ERP strategy? SAP RISE or any other.

- What technology platforms should be retained, upgraded or replaced?

- Which functions should be cloud-based and which should remain on-premise?

- What should be outsourced and what capabilities should be developed internally?

- How should data be governed to create a single enterprise-wide source of truth?

- How should AI and advanced analytics be embedded into routine business operations?

- How should manufacturing systems integrate with enterprise applications?

- What governance and organisational capabilities are required to sustain the transformation?

Candidate should be an Engineer and have certifications in IT/Digitization/AI
