Foundry Head - Iron & Steel Firm

Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned and technically strong professional to lead the end-to-end operations of a modern iron and steel foundry facility. The foundry operates using the Furan Sand Process, equipped with Fast Loop Line and Large Hand Moulding systems, focusing on high-volume and precision casting (200 kg and above) for critical engineering applications. The ideal candidate should demonstrate exceptional leadership, deep technical knowledge, and strategic foresight to deliver operational efficiency, quality excellence, and strong business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead all operational aspects of the foundry, including production, quality, maintenance, and engineering, with a focus on large-size precision castings.

Team Leadership:

- Manage a workforce of ~1250 employees, leading cross-functional teams across core functions such as Production, Quality, SCM, and Engineering.

Profitability & Cost Optimization:

- Drive cost-effective operations, optimize resource utilization, and ensure profitability through lean practices.

Technology & Process Advancement:

- Champion continuous improvement, process innovation, and adoption of modern foundry technologies.

Customer & Market Engagement:

- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, contribute to market intelligence, and support product development and business growth.

Supplier & Capital Equipment Management:

- Manage key supplier relationships and lead evaluation and implementation of capex projects for modernization or capacity enhancement.

Compliance & Quality:

- Ensure compliance with statutory and EHS norms while upholding the highest product quality standards.

Candidate Profile:

- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in metallurgy, pattern design, heat treatment, and machining.

- Leadership: Proven ability to lead large teams and independently manage plant operations.

- Industry Connect: Strong network within the Indian foundry and precision engineering ecosystem.

- Education: Degree/Diploma in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or Foundry Technology.
