Founders Avenue - Investment Analyst

Key Responsibilities:

Founder Sourcing & Startups Evaluation:

- Actively identify promising early-stage startups across India through direct outreach, digital research, referrals, and partnerships.

- Utilize online startup platforms, industry reports, newsletters, communities, and social channels to uncover strong early-stage startups beyond events.

- Maintain a structured pipeline of founders and startups with clear status updates and next steps.

- Conduct founder interviews, perform initial due diligence, and review applications to evaluate key founder attributes such as resilience, vision, and execution capability

- Build and sustain long-term relationships with universities, accelerators, incubators, startup hubs, and tech communities.

- Assist in hosting virtual showcase events and Talk to Promoter calls for startups

- Assist in preparing the Detailed Investment Note (DIN) and FAQs for startups post-showcase

- Assist with Investment Committee (IC) materials and coordinate processes leading up to IC meetings.

- Contribute to due diligence, transaction documentation, and follow-on investment processes.

- Build and maintain financial and scenario models for both portfolio companies and overall fund performance.

Investor Sourcing & Network Development (Minimum 1 Year Exposure):

- Identify and onboard new angel investors through proactive outreach, referrals, events, and ecosystem engagement.

- Build and manage a pipeline of prospective investors, tracking interactions, interest levels, and conversion status.

- Leverage platforms such as LinkedIn, angel networks, and professional communities to source high-quality investors.

- Coordinate initial conversations, pitch Founders Avenue, and drive investor onboarding processes.

- Maintain and update investor databases, ensuring accurate tracking of commitments and participation.

- Support execution of investor acquisition campaigns, including events, webinars, and targeted outreach.

- Build long-term relationships with new investors to strengthen the overall network and drive repeat participation.

Requirements:

- Mandatory: 2-3 years of professional experience in startups, venture capital, consulting & investment banking.

- Strong financial modeling, research, and problem-solving skills.

- Well-connected within the Indian startup ecosystem, with the ability to source and evaluate early-stage startups.

- Excellent networking and relationship-building skills, with a strong curiosity and drive to uncover exceptional founders.

- Based in India, role is remote with occasional travel to Mumbai for meetings and events.
