Founder's Office Role - New Initiatives - Education

A2 Learning.4 - 7 yrs.Mumbai

THE COMPANY:

We are building India's first dedicated institution for finance.

Not a general management school with a finance elective, but a purpose-built institution designed for the top tier of talent in banking, financial services, and investing.

The curriculum is being co-created with industry leaders, authored by practitioners, and reviewed by an academic council drawn from leading Indian and global institutions.

The institution is currently being built in Mumbai, with the inaugural cohort expected in 2027.

This is a rare opportunity to help shape an institution from the ground up while many of its defining decisions are still being made.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Most organisations inherit systems, processes, and ways of working. We don't.

Many of the most important things that need to happen over the next few years have never been done before. There is no operating manual, no established structure, and often no obvious owner.

We are looking for someone who is energised by that reality.

This role sits within the Founder's Office and focuses on identifying, building, and driving new initiatives across the institution. You will work on the highest-priority opportunities and challenges facing the organisation, moving between strategy and execution as required.

Some weeks you may be designing a new industry engagement programme. Other weeks you may be building partnerships, solving operational bottlenecks, evaluating new opportunities, or launching entirely new initiatives.

The common thread is ownership.

You will be expected to take ambiguous problems, create clarity, align stakeholders, and drive outcomes.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN:

The work spans the full range of what it takes to stand up a new institution and it will rarely look the same week to week.

1. Build New Initiatives:

- Design, launch, and scale initiatives that strengthen the institution's academic, industry, and strategic position.

- Take ideas from concept to execution.

2. Drive Strategic Projects:

- Work directly with leadership on high-priority projects that do not naturally fit within existing functions.

- Build plans, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure execution.

3. Build Partnerships:

- Develop relationships with industry leaders, financial institutions, academic partners, and ecosystem participants.

- Identify opportunities for collaboration and convert them into tangible outcomes.

4. Create Systems and Processes:

- Identify gaps before they become problems.

- Build processes, operating mechanisms, and workflows that enable the organisation to scale effectively.

5. Run Experiments:

- Test new ideas quickly and rigorously.

- Determine what works, what doesn't, and where resources should be focused.

6. Solve Important Problems:

- Step into situations where ownership is unclear and progress is stalled.

- Diagnose issues, bring structure, and drive resolution.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:

Within your first 12 - 18 months, you may have:

- Launched multiple high-impact initiatives from zero to execution.

- Built relationships with key industry and institutional stakeholders.

- Created systems that become part of the organisation's operating foundation.

- Solved critical operational and strategic challenges.

- Established yourself as someone who consistently turns ideas into outcomes.

WHO YOU ARE:

You have likely worked in environments where resources were limited, expectations were high, and ambiguity was unavoidable.

You may have:

- Worked in a startup or high-growth organisation.

- Been part of a Founder's Office, Chief of Staff, Strategy, or Special Projects team.

- Built something from scratch - inside or outside work.

- Owned outcomes that required influencing people without formal authority.

- More importantly, you have demonstrated an ability to make things happen.

- You are comfortable moving between thinking and doing.

- You can engage with senior stakeholders in the morning, solve an operational problem in the afternoon, and launch a new initiative by the end of the week.

SIGNALS WE LOOK FOR:

- Evidence of building something that did not exist before.

- Ownership of outcomes, not just tasks.

- Strong problem-solving ability and sound judgment.

- Comfort operating in ambiguous environments.

- Ability to influence without relying on hierarchy.

- Excellent written and verbal communication.

- Bias toward action combined with thoughtful decision-making.

- Curiosity, learning agility, and intellectual rigor.

This Role May Not Be For You If:

- You prefer clearly defined responsibilities and stable processes.

- You need detailed instructions before taking action.

- You are primarily motivated by managing teams rather than building outcomes.

- You are uncomfortable working across multiple functions and domains.

Why Join Us?:

Opportunities to help build enduring institutions are rare.

Opportunities to do so while they are still being designed are even rarer.

If you are excited by ownership, building from first principles, and creating something that could shape the future of finance talent in India, we would love to speak with you.
