Forensic Audit Manager/Lead

Position: Forensic Audit Manager/Lead

Company: Sterling Oil Exploration and Energy Production Company Limited (SEEPCO)

Role & responsibilities:

- Investigative Analysis: Perform forensic research on financial data to identify fraud, embezzlement, or non-compliance.

- Evidence Handling: Gather, reconstruct, and preserve financial evidence to ensure correctness before presenting it to Sr. Management.

- Reporting: Prepare detailed forensic reports and act as an expert for justifying the analysis.

- Fraud Prevention: Analyse internal controls and advise organizations on mitigating fraud risks and strengthening financial policies.

- Transaction Review: Trace funds, analyse bank records, and quantify losses incurred through fraudulent activity.

- Team Building: Works closely with the Team Lead Compliance to design appropriate professional robust reviews of the payment systems and projected expenditure.

- Analyses the procurement system to ensure transparency, accountability and fairness in the expenditure of taxpayer's money.

- Conducts audits periodically in any area of the operations of the company to ensure compliance with fiscal regulations.

- Routinely test and audit use of policies and procedures, reporting irregularities promptly to the HOD.

- Liaises with internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency, efficiency in the fiscal systems of operations and value of services for expenditure.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance and Law.

- Certifications: Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.

- Skills: Strong investigative, forensic accounting, data analysis, and legal knowledge, alongside excellent communication skills for reporting findings.

- Preferred Industry Experience (Primary Focus): Mining & Minerals, Metals & Smelting.

- Also Preferred: Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals & Refining, EPC Projects, Energy & Infrastructure, Heavy Engineering & Manufacturing.
