Food Innovation & Category Manager

We're seeking an entrepreneurial Food Innovation & Category Manager to own and elevate our portfolio spanning noodles, cornflakes, condiments, seasonings, and related food products. In this pivotal position, you will design and execute data-driven marketing strategies that showcase our brands, engage target consumers, and accelerate category performance. You'll also carry P&L accountability and shape long-term forecasting and growth plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Brand & Portfolio Development: Define and enhance category architecture, nurturing brand equity across all SKUs.
- Market & Consumer Insights: Analyze industry and shopper data to pinpoint trends, craft competitive strategies, and win market share.
- Innovation Roadmap: Build 3-5-year product roadmaps covering new launches, line extensions, and SKU rationalization or exits.
- Demand & Inventory Planning: Forecast volume requirements, set depot stocking targets, and partner with supply chain teams to ensure seamless availability.
- 7Ps Leadership: Drive Product, Price, Place, Promotion, Packaging, Positioning & People decisions-working closely with Trade Marketing to maximize impact.
- Pricing & Promotion Management: Align with Sales to establish competitive pricing, design promotional calendars, and monitor ROI on trade investments.
- Key Account Collaboration: Support National KAMs through regular buyer interactions and store visits to align on in-market needs.
- Financial Stewardship: Own category budgets, deliver against revenue targets, and contribute to long-range financial projections.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years in the food/FMCG sector, specifically managing noodles, cornflakes, condiments, seasonings, or similar categories.
- At least 5 years of experience in African or comparable international markets.

- Hands-on experience in consumer activation and promotional planning.
- Familiarity with modern trade, general trade, and export channels.
