We are looking for a seasoned Sea / Ocean Freight Export professional to join our growing supply chain team and lead end-to-end export operations for food products across international markets.
This role is critical for ensuring smooth, compliant, and cost-efficient exports, while proactively managing risks associated with global sea freight operations.
What We're Looking For:
Core Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience in sea / ocean freight exports, with food products as a mandatory category
- Proven exposure to handling exports to USA / UAE / UK (experience in at least one international market is mandatory)
- Demonstrated experience in managing both dry and reefer containers, including temperature-controlled shipments and cold-chain integrity
Export Operations & Compliance:
- In-depth knowledge of export documentation including BL, Invoice, Packing List, COO, Health Certificates, Phytosanitary documents, FDA/FSSAI-related compliances, and destination-specific food regulations
- Strong understanding of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliances applicable to international food exports
- Ability to manage end-to-end shipment lifecycle from booking to final delivery
Shipping & Commercial Acumen:
- Clear understanding of shipping lines, freight forwarders, and CHA agreements
- Strong capability in rate negotiation, contract management, demurrage/detention control, and liability assessment
- Experience working with multiple carriers and optimizing freight costs without compromising service quality
Risk Management & Problem Solving:
- Ability to identify risks in sea export operations (delays, temperature deviations, documentation gaps, port congestion, compliance issues)
- Proactively design and implement risk mitigation and contingency plans
- Comfortable handling escalations, claims, and exception management in high-pressure scenarios
Stakeholder Management:
- Coordinate closely with CHA, shipping lines, freight forwarders, QA, production, and overseas partners
- Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders to ensure shipment timelines and quality standards are met
