FMCG Events and Activations Manager-Male

The FMCG Events and Activations Manager will lead consumer engagement initiatives across the FMCG portfolio in Africa. The role focuses on strengthening brand visibility through well planned events, trade activations, and experiential programs that support marketing and sales priorities.
Core Responsibilities
Event and Activation Execution
- Lead end to end execution of product launches, sampling events, trade fairs, and consumer promotions.
- Manage agencies, suppliers, and event partners to ensure high quality and timely delivery.
- Ensure all on ground and digital materials follow approved brand guidelines.
Vendor and Budget Management
- Build and maintain a strong network of agencies, fabricators, and logistics partners.
- Negotiate commercial terms to achieve cost efficiency.
- Track budgets closely and ensure all financial closures are completed on time.
Strategic Planning
- Develop an annual activation plan aligned with FMCG brand and sales priorities.
- Translate consumer insights into experiential concepts that enhance brand recall.
- Set KPIs, timelines, and success measures for all activation programs.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work with Brand, Sales, and Trade Marketing teams to ensure activation plans support commercial goals.
- Coordinate with Finance on budget approvals and compliance.
- Partner with Digital Marketing to strengthen reach and engagement.
Performance Measurement
- Prepare detailed post event analyses covering engagement, sampling outcomes, footfall, and ROI.
- Identify gaps and propose improvement strategies for future activities.
- Maintain a structured archive of photos, videos, and event reports.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong project management capability with disciplined execution.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Creative thinking with practical problem solving.
- Ability to manage multiple projects across regions.
- Proficiency in MS Office and event budgeting tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- Five to eight years of experience in FMCG events, activations, or trade marketing.
- Proven experience delivering large scale BTL and consumer engagement programs.

Reports to: Senior Marketing Leadership
Manages: Event Executives, Agencies, and Field Teams
