Role Overview

We are looking for a Deputy General Manager / General Manager - Operations to drive execution of commercial interior fit-out projects across India. This is a senior individual contributor role where the focus is on direct ownership of projects, coordination with multiple stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery.

Unlike traditional leadership positions, this role emphasizes hands-on project management and execution over team handling. The ideal candidate should bring strong technical expertise, deep vendor relationships, and proven experience in handling large, fast-paced projects independently.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & Delivery

- Take full ownership of end-to-end execution for assigned commercial interior projects.

- Coordinate with design, procurement, estimation, and client servicing teams for smooth delivery.

- Monitor daily progress at sites, identify risks, and implement corrective measures to maintain timelines and quality standards.

- Ensure adherence to project specifications, budgets, and compliance requirements.

Vendor & Contractor Coordination

- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, MEP consultants, and service providers.

- Independently manage negotiations, work orders, and accountability for project partners.

- Conduct site inspections and enforce performance benchmarks with vendors.

Client Management

- Act as the primary execution lead for clients on assigned projects.

- Provide regular updates, manage expectations, and proactively address issues or escalations.

- Ensure high client satisfaction throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- 6 - 12 years of experience in project/operations management in commercial interior fit-outs.

- Background in turnkey execution of office, coworking, retail, or institutional projects.

- Strong knowledge of project execution, vendor management, and site coordination.

- Proven ability to independently deliver large-scale, complex projects.

- Strong communication, problem-solving, and client management skills.
