Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architect to join our team as AVP - Design for our UAE operations. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 8+ years of professional experience in commercial interior architecture, with significant exposure to the UAE or other international markets. The AVP will lead our design function in the region and will play a pivotal role in client interfacing, team leadership, and delivering innovative, world-class commercial interiors.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage end-to-end design processes for commercial interior design and build projects.

- Understand client requirements and translate them into creative, functional, and brand-aligned design solutions.

- Prepare and oversee concept design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation stages.

- Ensure all design outputs meet regulatory compliance, local authority guidelines, and international standards.

- Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, and site execution teams to ensure design integrity.

- Conduct site visits to monitor execution and provide design supervision during fit-out phases.

- Manage and mentor the design team, ensuring high-quality output and professional growth.

- Represent Flipspaces in client meetings, presentations, and project pitches.

- Liaise with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.

- Contribute to the development and refinement of design processes, technology adoption, and innovation.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture from a recognized university.

- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in commercial interior design, with at least 3+ years in Dubai/UAE or other global markets.

- Strong portfolio showcasing experience in office spaces, coworking hubs, retail environments, or hospitality interiors.

- Thorough knowledge of UAE building codes, regulations, and authority approvals (Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, DDA, etc.).

- Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office; knowledge of VR or 3D visualisation tools is a plus.

- Exceptional conceptualization and space planning skills.

- Strong leadership qualities, with experience managing multi-disciplinary design teams.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Attributes:

- International experience with global design firms is an added advantage.

- LEED or WELL certification is a plus.
