Role Summary :

We are looking for a seasoned Operations leader to own end-to-end delivery governance across a portfolio of commercial interior fit-out projects running in parallel across multiple sites/regions. This role builds on the core Project Management & Quality Control (PMC) charter - but instead of owning a single project or site, the AGM/DGM will supervise a team of Project Managers/PMC leads across concurrent projects, with those PMOs reporting directly into this role. The candidate will be the central point of accountability for quality, timelines, cost discipline, and stakeholder satisfaction across the entire portfolio they own, while grooming and managing the PM layer beneath them.

This is a step above single-project PMC ownership and a step below national/SVP-level operations leadership - a portfolio-level execution leader who translates strategy into consistent, on-ground delivery across multiple projects simultaneously.

Roles and Responsibilities :

Portfolio & Multi-Project Oversight :

- Own delivery governance across a portfolio of concurrent interior fit-out projects, with individual Project Managers/PMC leads reporting into this role.

- Consolidate project-level MIS, quality plans, and inspection/test reports into a single portfolio-level view for leadership review.

- Prioritize resources, manpower, and site support across projects based on urgency, client criticality, and project stage.

- Standardize execution practices, checklists, and quality benchmarks across all projects under the portfolio so that no single project depends on ad-hoc judgment calls.

Quality, Execution & Site Governance :

- Keep a continuous check on the quality of interior works and the execution (as per drawings) across all projects, resolving site-related technical issues escalated by PMs.

- Monitor site operations across the portfolio to ensure they meet planned standards; recommend adjustments or quality improvements to assembly or process flows.

- Audit and plug irregularities or defects across sites with respect to materials used, finishing, or final products.

- Ensure blueprints, building codes, and inspection regulations are being correctly interpreted and followed by each project team.

- Review and approve method statements, work procedures, checklists, inspection & test plans, project quality plans, and other documentation submitted by PMs before they go to client/leadership.

Team & PMO Management :

- Directly manage and mentor a team of Project Managers/PMC leads, each responsible for one or more sites.

- Set clear KRAs/KPIs for the PMO layer and conduct structured performance reviews.

- Build capability within the PM team through training, coaching, and structured knowledge-sharing across projects.

- Create a culture of ownership, quality-first execution, and proactive escalation rather than firefighting.

Resource & Vendor Coordination :

- Manage and allocate resources effectively across all projects under the portfolio.

- Coordinate with vendor and contractor teams at a portfolio level to ensure consistent quality and delivery standards across sites.

- Identify and plan for best practices and standards that can be replicated across projects.

Stakeholder & Process Management :

- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for project-related communication across the full portfolio.

- Act as the first point of escalation for project-level issues before they need to go to senior/national leadership.

- Formulate and implement policies, process flowcharts, and SOPs applicable across multiple projects.

- Devise contingency and strategic plans for projects at risk of timeline, cost, or quality slippage.

- Drive quality and process orientation across the portfolio, with strong exposure to implementing quality systems and risk management frameworks.

Ideal Candidate Profile :

- 8 - 12 years of experience in project management, quality control, or execution leadership within commercial interior fit-outs, design & build, or construction.

- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects/sites simultaneously, or leading a team of project managers, is strongly preferred.

- Strong working knowledge of blueprints, building codes, and inspection regulations.

- Proven track record of implementing quality systems, method statements, and inspection & test plans at scale.

- Strong people-management skills, with experience mentoring and developing project managers or site engineers.

- Solid vendor and stakeholder coordination experience across multiple concurrent projects.

- Excellent communication, documentation, and escalation-management skills.

- Ability to build and standardize SOPs, checklists, and quality frameworks that scale across projects.
