Lead Philippines (Consolidation & Refinancing Business)
About the Role:
Were hiring a mission-critical Lead for the Philippines, responsible for building our consolidation and refinancing lending business from the ground up. This is a founder-lite role that combines hands-on execution with strategic ownership across growth, partnerships, compliance, and full P&L accountability.
The ideal candidate will bring deep operating experience in fintech lending, a bias for execution, and a hunger to build at scale delivering a USD 67M loan book annually, within the company's defined risk thresholds. This is not a strategy and a coordination job. It is an ownership-heavy, zero to-one opportunity to define and drive the future of subprime financial inclusion in the Philippines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Go-To-Market & Growth Execution:
- Build and execute the GTM roadmap for consolidation and refinancing offerings across B2C and B2B2C channels.
- Own acquisition funnels, customer segmentation, and conversion metrics across employer partnerships, digital channels, and referral ecosystems.
- Define growth levers (CAC/LTV balance, repeat usage triggers, churn minimization) and deploy rapid experimentation loops.
- Work with HQ product and design teams to localize UI/UX, onboarding, and engagement strategies.
2. Partnerships & Ecosystem Development:
- Identify, negotiate, and close strategic partnerships with employers, credit bureaus, financial advisors, collection agencies, and HR tech firms.
- Represent the brand at industry events, government forums, and fintech communities to build credibility and alliances.
- Co-create employer-based programs for employee refinancing, loan switching, and payroll-integrated disbursements.
3. P&L Ownership & Business Scaling:
- Own the Philippines P&L end-to-end from loan disbursements to collections, pricing strategy to cost control.
- Drive scale while ensuring profitability and unit economic sustainability.
- Forecast performance across disbursals, NPLs, recoveries, and margin levers with the help of HQ.
- Implement monitoring dashboards and own monthly business reviews with the Founder/Board.
4. Risk & Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure the local business operates within FLINs defined risk thresholds, including credit quality, exposure limits, and product structuring.
- Liaise with legal/compliance teams to ensure adherence to the Philippines lending regulations and consumer protection standards.
- Build robust documentation, internal checks, KYC processes, and grievance redressal workflows as required by local law.
Requirements:
- 2 to 3 years in a similar operating or expansion role in a high-growth fintech lender, ideally in India or SE Asia
- Strong understanding of the Philippine credit market, especially in consumer lending, near-prime, or refinancing segments.
- Prior experience with zero-to-one business building or launching a new geography/vertical
- Excellent grasp of lending unit economics, CAC/LTV, and growth funnels
- Strong cross-functional ability: GTM, sales, compliance, credit/risk, and customer ops
- Highly analytical and numbers-driven; hands-on with Excel, metrics dashboards, and business modeling
- Fluent in English; fluency in Tagalog or Filipino is preferential.
