About the Role:
We are looking for a Category Management - Toys & Stationery to own and drive the growth of the Toys & Stationery category at FirstClub.
The role will involve building the right assortment, managing vendor and brand relationships, driving category growth, and ensuring a strong customer proposition across the category. The ideal candidate should have strong category management experience, preferably within e-commerce or quick commerce, and a good understanding of consumer products.
What you'll do:
Category Management:
- Own the end-to-end Toys & Stationery category, including assortment, pricing, margins, selection, and availability.
- Develop and execute category strategies to drive revenue and profitability.
- Identify category growth opportunities based on customer insights, market trends, and competitive analysis.
- Build a relevant and differentiated assortment across toys, games, school supplies, art & craft, and stationery.
Vendor & Brand Management:
- Identify, onboard, and manage relevant brands, vendors, and suppliers.
- Drive commercial negotiations around pricing, margins, schemes, and other business terms.
- Build strong relationships with key brands and suppliers.
- Work towards improving assortment depth, availability, and category economics.
Business & Growth:
- Own key category metrics including revenue, margins, selection, pricing, and availability.
- Plan and execute category campaigns, promotions, launches, and seasonal initiatives.
- Monitor category performance and identify opportunities to improve growth and profitability.
- Track market and competitor trends to identify new products, brands, and opportunities.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing and growth teams to drive category visibility and customer acquisition.
- Partner with supply chain and operations teams to ensure product availability and inventory efficiency.
- Collaborate with product and tech teams to improve product discovery and customer experience.
- Work with finance and leadership teams on category performance, forecasts, and business reviews.
What we're looking for:
- 4+ years of experience in category management, buying, merchandising, or business ownership.
- Prior experience in e-commerce or quick commerce is preferred.
- Experience handling consumer categories such as toys, stationery, kids, lifestyle, FMCG, or related categories would be an advantage.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in vendor negotiations and managing category economics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Good understanding of assortment planning, pricing, promotions, and category growth.
- Strong ownership and execution mindset.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
