ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a sharp and execution-focused Financial Controller to join one of our high-growth manufacturing portfolio companies. This is a pivotal role sitting at the intersection of financial reporting, controls, and business partnering. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, scale-up environments and has a strong grip on Indian GAAP, Ind AS, and manufacturing cost structures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the end-to-end financial reporting process - monthly MIS, P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements in accordance with Ind AS / Indian GAAP
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis cycles; work closely with plant and operations teams to drive cost discipline
- Manage statutory and tax compliance including GST, TDS, advance tax, and transfer pricing documentation
- Liaise with statutory auditors (Big 4 / mid-tier firms) and ensure timely closure of annual accounts
- Establish and enforce internal financial controls (IFC) across manufacturing, procurement, and inventory processes
- Oversee working capital management - debtors, creditors, inventory provisioning, and cash forecasting
- Drive ERP hygiene (SAP / Oracle / Tally) and partner with IT for process automation and reporting improvements
- Support the CFO on fund raises, lender covenants, and investor reporting requirements
- Manage a team of 3-6 finance professionals across accounts, costing, and compliance
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Chartered Accountant (CA) - mandatory; CMA holders with strong manufacturing background may also be considered
- 8-12 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 4 years in a Controller or senior finance role
- Prior experience in manufacturing, industrial goods, or supply chain-heavy businesses is strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Ind AS, Indian GAAP, GST regime, and direct tax compliance
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP B1 / S4 HANA / Oracle preferred)
- Experience in Series B / C+ funded companies or PE-backed environments is a plus
