Financial Controller - Haircare Industry

Moxie Beauty is a fast-growing D2C haircare brand on a mission to build India's most loved clean haircare portfolio. We operate across D2C, marketplaces, quick commerce, and offline retail, and are scaling rapidly across channels and categories.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Financial Controller to own the end-to-end controllership function - financial reporting, statutory compliance, taxation, audits, and internal controls. This is a leadership role that partners directly with the Head of Finance and the broader leadership team to drive financial discipline, reporting accuracy, and business insight as we scale.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Controllership

- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual book closures in line with Ind AS / applicable GAAP, with robust accruals, provisions, and cut-offs.

- Prepare and review financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with variance analysis vs. budget and prior periods

- Establish and enforce accounting policies, chart of accounts, and documentation standards

- Strengthen internal controls, SOPs, and the overall control environment across revenue, P2P, inventory, and fixed assets

Taxation & Statutory Compliance

- Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance - GST, TDS, income tax, transfer pricing, advance tax, and assessments

- Ensure timely filings, returns, and reconciliations (GSTR-1/3B/2B, 26AS, TDS) and manage notices/litigation with consultants

- Manage ROC / MCA compliance, secretarial filings, and related regulatory requirements

Audits

- Lead statutory, tax, internal, and GST audits - own audit readiness, schedules, and closure of observations

- Act as the primary point of contact for Big 4 / external auditors and ensure clean, on-time sign-offs

Business Partnering & FP&A Support

- Partner with Growth, Supply Chain, Operations, and Marketing teams on budgeting, cost controls, contribution margin tracking, and unit economics

- Support the Head of Finance on board reporting, investor reporting, MIS, and ad-hoc analyses

- Drive cash flow management, working capital optimization, and vendor/channel financial hygiene

Team Leadership

- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team across accounting, taxation, and compliance

- Build a high-performance, high-ownership culture within the finance function

Systems & Process

- Drive automation and process improvements across Zoho / Tally / ERP, GST tools, and reconciliation workflows
