Financial Controller - Footwear Manufacturing

About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Financial Controller to lead the finance function for a leading footwear manufacturing brand. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in financial management, planning, and compliance, with proven experience in the manufacturing sector. This is a senior leadership role requiring a balance of strategic oversight and hands-on execution to drive financial efficiency and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Control

- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

- Monitor and control costs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the leadership team for strategic decision-making.

Accounting & Reporting

- Ensure timely preparation of accurate financial statements in compliance with statutory requirements.

- Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closings.

- Develop and maintain internal financial reporting systems for management review.

Compliance & Audit

- Coordinate with statutory and internal auditors for smooth completion of audits.

- Implement strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management

- Manage working capital efficiently, ensuring adequate liquidity for business operations.

- Oversee banking relationships, fund management, and treasury operations.

- Optimize cash flow and monitor capital expenditure.

Business & Operational Finance

- Partner with manufacturing, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure cost efficiencies.

- Implement and track KPIs related to manufacturing and operational performance.

- Provide financial leadership in evaluating business opportunities and expansion plans.

Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, corporate finance, and financial regulations.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Ability to manage and mentor finance teams, fostering a culture of accountability.

- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills to collaborate across business

functions.

- Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Excel, and financial reporting tools.

Ideal Candidate Profile

- Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA - Finance with 10-15 years of progressive finance

experience, including at least 5 years in the manufacturing sector.

- Proven expertise in leading finance functions, preferably in footwear, apparel, FMCG, or related industries.

- Hands-on experience in financial control, compliance, treasury, and strategic financial planning.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

- Immediate joiners or candidates with a maximum 20-day notice period will be preferred.
