Description:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring consistent corporate financial strategy through a range of avenues such as managing and allocating accounts, financial statements, and tax data.
The candidate will also be the point of contact for banks, auditors, and tax authorities.
Responsibilities:
Controllership & Accounting Operations:
- Oversee end-to-end bookkeeping and monthly closure of accounts in line with applicable accounting standards, including provisions, accruals, and period-end adjustments.
- Manage all reconciliations receivables, payables, banks, payroll, etc.
- Ensure timely preparation of monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements.
- Maintain consistency between accounting records and business team reports, ensuring accuracy across functions such as sales, operations, and inventory.
- Manage cash flow planning, monitoring, and forecasting to support business continuity and growth.
- Drive efficiency in existing financial processes and design new workflows as required.
- Identify opportunities for automation within MIS, finance operations, and reporting.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
- Ensure full compliance with Indian statutory and regulatory requirements (GST, TDS, PF, ESIC, ROC filings, FEMA, etc.
- Liaise with statutory auditors, internal auditors, and consultants for timely reporting and compliance.
Other activities:
- Prepare periodic management dashboards, MIS reports, and presentations for the leadership team and board.
- Support strategic initiatives including fundraising, investor updates, and due diligence.
- Work closely with HR on payroll management, ESOP accounting and related controls.
- Work closely with the SCM team on inventory management and related controls.
Requirements:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant with 1-3 years of relevant experience in controllership, finance, and compliance.
- Strong grounding in accounting principles and statutory standards.
- Proficiency in Tally Prime, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace.
- Exposure to additional ERP platforms and automation tools is a plus.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and organisational abilities; capable of translating data into actionable insights.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple responsibilities with accuracy and ownership.
