Role Purpose

The Financial Controller will lead the complete finance and accounting function and ensure strong financial governance across luxury real estate development projects, commercial operations, construction activities, and corporate entities.

The role requires a highly commercial and operational finance leader capable of managing:

- Financial reporting

- Budgeting & forecasting

- Project finance controls

- Cash flow management

- IFRS compliance

- Tax & audit coordination

- Banking & treasury

- Internal controls

- MIS reporting for management decision-making

The candidate must be capable of working in a fast-paced African business environment while establishing world-class finance systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Control:

- Lead end-to-end finance and accounting operations

- Ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting

- Prepare consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS

- Monitor project-wise profitability and cost control

- Develop financial policies, SOPs, and governance frameworks

- Implement strong internal controls and compliance systems

Budgeting & Forecasting

- Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts

- Analyze project cost variances and recommend corrective actions

- Monitor CAPEX and operational expenditure

- Develop financial models for real estate and infrastructure projects

Real Estate & Construction Finance

- Track construction project costs, billing cycles, contractor payments, and procurement expenses

- Monitor project cash flow and working capital requirements

- Ensure financial control over luxury villa developments and commercial tower projects

- Coordinate with project teams for project profitability analysis

Treasury & Banking

- Manage banking relationships and financing arrangements

- Monitor liquidity and cash flow planning

- Supervise foreign currency transactions and fund transfers

- Optimize working capital management

Audit, Tax & Compliance

- Coordinate statutory audits and internal audits

- Ensure compliance with local tax laws and international accounting standards

- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, legal teams, and government authorities

- Ensure timely submission of tax filings and regulatory reports

MIS & Strategic Reporting

- Prepare management dashboards and financial MIS reports

- Present financial performance insights to leadership

- Support strategic decision-making with financial analysis

- Drive automation and ERP-based reporting systems

Team Leadership

- Lead and mentor finance and accounting teams

- Build high-performance finance processes aligned with international standards

- Coordinate cross-functionally with procurement, projects, contracts, HR, and administration teams

Required Qualifications

- Chartered Accountant (CA), ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent

- MBA Finance is an added advantage

- Strong understanding of IFRS and international accounting practices

- Knowledge of construction/project accounting preferred

- 10-18 years of finance leadership experience

o Hospitality Assets

- International or African experience preferred

- Experience managing multi-entity or project-based finance operations preferred
