Job Summary
We are seeking a technically proficient Financial Audit Consultant (36 years experience) with a CA or Masters in Finance/Business to lead comprehensive statutory audit engagements. The ideal candidate will be adept at identifying key operational and financial risks, designing and executing audit programs, and challenging existing audit techniques for continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include leading fieldwork, presenting complex findings and recommendations to senior management, driving digital audit use cases with the data analytics team, and applying an agile audit methodology across various business units.
Key Responsibilities and Audit Technical Deliverables:
Risk Identification and Audit Execution:
- Identifying key operational and financial risks across the client's business landscape by analyzing core business processes and strategy.
- Designing and executing comprehensive audit plans and procedures that specifically address the identified financial, compliance, and control risks in accordance with relevant auditing standards (e.g., GAAS/SA).
- Challenging and improving existing audit techniques and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of substantive testing and controls evaluation.
Digital Audit and Data Integration:
- Driving digital audit use cases through active collaboration with the data analytics team to leverage advanced techniques for transactional testing, pattern recognition, and anomaly detection.
- Utilizing audit software and data extraction tools to perform deep-dive analysis on General Ledger, sub-ledgers, and transactional data.
Fieldwork and Stakeholder Communication:
- Leading fieldwork activities, including planning, managing engagement timelines, conducting partner interviews, and performing technical evaluations of financial statement assertions.
- Presenting findings and recommendations derived from technical analysis and testing to senior management and audit committees, ensuring clarity and commercial relevance.
- Building your network across various business units and functions to foster continuous risk communication and data acquisition.
Methodology and Compliance:
- Participating in cross-practice audits and actively applying an agile audit methodology (iterative planning and continuous feedback) to deliver value efficiently.
- Ensuring meticulous documentation of audit work papers, conclusions, and compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 3 to 6 years experience in the audit industry or a Big 4 firm.
Audit Focus: Proven experience with Statutory audit or financial due diligence.
Education: Accountancy degree (Chartered Accountant preferred) or a masters in finance/business.
