Job Description for FP&A Roles:

Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting:

- Prepare annual budget, prepare forecasts, and long-range strategic plans in coordination with business units.

- Parepare, maintain and refine financial planning models to reflect changes in business dynamics and assumptions.

- Support department heads with budgetary inputs, expenditure controls, and scenario analysis.

Management Reporting (MIS):

- Prepare and deliver Monthly MIS reports that provide accurate and timely financial performance summaries for senior management.

- Highlight key variances in revenue, costs, and margins and provide actionable commentary.

- Ensure alignment of MIS with financial statements and management expectations.

- Monitor segment-wise and product-wise profitability (Equity, Debt, Hybrid schemes).

- Maintain and supervise Branch Level P&L.

- Cost-to-Income and Ratio Analysis.

- Track and report cost-to-income ratios, expense ratios (TER by fund category), and productivity metrics.

- Analyze fixed vs. variable cost structures; support initiatives to improve cost efficiency and optimize margins.

Financial Analysis & Insights:

- Provide financial modeling and analysis to support new product launches (e.g., ETFs, passive funds), channel incentive structures, and digital initiatives.

- Monitor competitor benchmarking (TER, AUM growth, profitability) using AMFI and SEBI disclosures.

- Executive Dashboards & Presentations.

- Develop dashboards and presentation decks for senior leadership and board reviews

- Generate reports on KPIs including AUM growth, channel productivity, cost trends, scheme profitability, and fund manager performance metrics.

Process Improvement & Automation:

- Identify opportunities to enhance FP&A processes through automation and system optimization.

- Lead or support implementation of tools and systems

Cross-functional Collaboration:

- Work closely with Accounting, Treasury, Operations, and HR teams to gather data and ensure cohesive financial strategy.

- Partner with business stakeholders to align financial plans with operational realities.

- Profitability Monitoring & Analysis

- Continuously monitor overall and segment-wise profitability, including product lines (Equity, Debt, Hybrid, Passive), distribution channels (Direct, Banks, IFAs, Digital), and client segments (retail, HNI, institutional).

- Analyze revenue drivers such as management fees, advisory fees, and performance-linked income versus associated costs including trail commissions, marketing spend, and operational overheads.

- Assess fund-level profitability by linking AUM, TER, and fund expenses to net contribution margins.

- Prepare profitability dashboards and heat maps to identify underperforming schemes, channels, or geographies, and recommend corrective actions.

- Track sales productivity vs. cost per acquisition (CPA) and ROI on marketing spends across campaigns and distribution partnerships.

- Provide insights to management for product rationalization, cost optimization, and strategic allocation of resources based on profitability metrics.

- Support new initiative evaluation (e.g., launching new funds or entering alternate channels) through contribution margin and break-even analysis.

- Benchmark internal performance against competitors using AMFI and SEBI filings to identify areas of margin improvement or market share gain.
