Job Description:

The role will be responsible for ensuring that corporate and Islamic banking products, accounting processes, General Ledger (GL) mapping, financial reporting, reconciliation, and target operating models align with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead finance and accounting workshops to gather detailed business and accounting requirements.

- Translate finance workflows and accounting requirements into functional and technical specifications.

- Support BRDs covering Chart of Accounts (CoA), product accounting rules, GL mapping, and financial reporting.

- Review FSDs and vendor solutions to validate accounting logic, accruals, valuation, journal entries, and balance-sheet impacts.

- Perform gap analysis between Temenos out-of-the-box accounting functionality and bank-specific finance policies and regulatory requirements.

- Act as the primary Finance SME for vendor queries related to accounting lines, posting logic, profit distribution, and financial processing.

- Define To-Be finance processes covering daily, monthly, and year-end closing activities.

- Establish accounting rules, validation controls, reconciliation frameworks, and automated posting logic.

- Lead legacy-to-Temenos GL and product accounting data mapping.

- Define data cleansing and financial validation rules for migration.

- Lead trial balance, sub-ledger, GL, and financial reconciliation activities during migration.

- Design complex finance test scenarios covering EOD processing, accruals, profit distribution, and accounting cycles.

- Lead Finance UAT and day-in-the-life financial cycle simulations.

- Manage and triage accounting defects and validate vendor fixes against approved BRDs and requirements.

- Assess transformation impact on finance operations, controls, and back-office processes.

- Prepare and review finance SOPs, reconciliation guidelines, financial controls, and training materials.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

- 7- 10 years of experience as a Finance Consultant / Finance SME in large-scale Temenos Core Banking Transformation programs.

- Strong experience in Middle East Banking, preferably with Corporate and Islamic Banking.

- Hands-on knowledge of Islamic Banking accounting, Sharia-compliant products, AA accounting, and profit distribution pools.

- Expert knowledge of Temenos Core Accounting and Arrangement Architecture (AA) accounting engines.

- Strong understanding of Temenos Payments Hub (TPH) and payment posting/accounting lines.

- Experience in GL mapping, product accounting, financial reconciliation, migration, UAT, and financial reporting.

- Strong understanding of EOD processing, accruals, valuation, journal entries, trial balance, and sub-ledger reconciliation.

- Experience working with banking implementation vendors and cross-functional technical teams.

- Temenos certification in relevant modules is preferred.

- Professional accounting qualification such as CA / ACCA / CPA / equivalent is preferred.
