This is a full-time generalist role for a Finance Operations Manager located inBengaluru. This is a critical role for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and ready to learn and grow with the organization. Our accounting and compliance functions are expertly managed by an outsourced professional services firm. Your role is to support the CEO on strategic and operational aspects of finance, critical decision-making, forecasting/budgeting, and risk management. You'll be the central point of contact for ensuring seamless operations and insightful financial guidance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
The Finance Operations Manager's role is anchored on day-to-day operations of the company, working closely with the CEO and the management team.
1. Strategic Financial Leadership & Decision Support
- Collaborate closely with our outsourced professional services firm, acting as the primary liaison to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
- You'll interpret and present key financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) to the management team, reporting accurate financial status and transforming data into actionable intelligence.
- Provide strategic financial analysis to support business decision-making and drive growth.
- Collaborate with other teams (internal and external) to optimize financial performance and support business objectives.
2. Investor Relations & Reporting Excellence
- You'll be the primary point of contact for financial interactions with existing investors, ensuring prompt, accurate, and transparent reporting.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly/quarterly investor reports, including financial performance, key operational metrics, and strategic updates.
- Respond promptly and thoroughly to investor queries, providing clear, concise financial explanations and supporting documentation that builds trust and confidence.
- Support the CEO in preparing compelling investor presentations and materials for future fundraising rounds, especially as we gear up for Series A.
3. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) & Treasury Management:
- Develop and maintain a robust monthly rolling forward financial forecast (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) to ensure adequate liquidity and support proactive treasury management decisions. This is critical for managing cash flow in a capital-intensive industry.
- Monitor actual financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and providing actionable insights to optimize spending and resource allocation.
- Develop and track key financial and operational metrics relevant to a semiconductor startup (e.g., burn rate, runway, product development costs, COGS targets, inventory turns).
- Assist in managing banking relationships, optimizing cash utilization, and exploring financing options.
4. Business Operations & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Actively participate in the development and refinement of the company's overall business strategy, providing financial modeling and impact analysis to drive growth.
- Collaborate extensively with engineering, operations, and sales teams on critical operational finance aspects, ensuring financial rigor and efficiency:
- Inventory Management: Support the development of inventory strategies, cost analysis, and optimization to ensure efficient use of capital, minimize obsolescence, and support smooth production ramp-up.
- Revenue Management: Assist in detailed revenue forecasting, developing, and analysing pricing strategies, and evaluating sales performance against financial targets.
- Cost Management: Proactively identify opportunities for cost optimization across all functions, from R&D to manufacturing and SG&A.
5. Financial Systems & Process Optimization:
- Work closely with the outsourced firm to ensure the integrity, efficiency, and scalability of financial data, systems, and processes.
- Identify and implement best practices for financial operations within a high-growth startup environment, preparing us for scale.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field followed by CA, MBA , CMA or CFA.
- About 5 years of progressive experience in corporate finance roles, with at least 2-3 years in a fast-paced startup environment, preferably within the electronics or semiconductor industry. Knowledge of semiconductor industry dynamics, cost structures, product lifecycle, and supply chain is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated experience in broad financial operations, including robust financial planning and analysis (FP&A), forecasting, and active treasury management is essential.
- Attention to details, and process-orientation to establish and improve financial processes.
