We are seeking a Finance Manager Sales Compensation (Intelligence & Execution) to lead global sales compensation operations, with accountability for commission accuracy, financial integrity, governance, controls, and end-to-end execution. This role combines financial modelling, analytical rigour, operational leadership, risk management, and stakeholder management to ensure accurate, timely, transparent, and well-governed commission payments.
Location - Gurgaon/Hyderabad/Pune.
Your Future Employer - A leading global organisation with a complex, multinational business environment, offering an opportunity to lead global sales compensation operations, financial governance, and commission execution.
Responsibilities:
- Build and execute detailed scenario modelling and stress-testing frameworks to forecast total compensation plan spend and assess the financial impact of plan changes, structural redesigns, and broader market or economic shifts.
- Generate and refine global payout estimates and compensation decision models to support budget alignment and informed decision-making.
- Analyse plan effectiveness metrics and partner with senior stakeholders to identify plan optimisation opportunities and support annual target-setting frameworks.
- Lead final validation and control oversight for global commission payroll processing, including final review and sign-off before submission.
- Evaluate and authorise large payments, non-standard payouts, custom executive incentives, and other high-value commission exceptions.
- Review and approve custom withholding, recovery, non-recoverable draw, guarantee, and clawback protocols in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
- Sign off on monthly Audit and SOX controls, ensuring internal controls over financial reporting are maintained, documented, and audit ready.
Requirements:
- 3 - 10 years of relevant experience in sales compensation operations, finance governance, audit, sales operations, corporate financial modelling, or corporate incentive strategy, preferably within a global or multinational environment.
- Strong understanding of complex sales compensation plan mechanics, including quotas, accelerators, thresholds, caps, splits, crediting rules, draws, guarantees, clawbacks, recoveries, adjustments, SPIFFs, and executive incentive structures.
- High-level administrative and structural knowledge of enterprise calculation platforms such as Xactly, Varicent, Anaplan, SAP Commissions, or similar systems, with an understanding of interactions between rate tables, crediting rules, splits, formulas, and calculation logic.
- Advanced Excel and data-modelling proficiency, including nested logic, dynamic arrays, Power Query, large-dataset reconciliation, variance analysis, scenario modelling, stress testing, and payout forecasting.
- Practical experience with script-based reconciliation or automation tools. Knowledge of VBA, Python/Pandas, SQL, Alteryx, or equivalent methods is a significant advantage.
- Strong risk-management capabilities, with the ability to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks related to overpayments, underpayments, cancellations, retroactive adjustments, unauthorised overrides, data integrity, data security, and non-standard payment exceptions.
- Demonstrated experience supporting SOX and internal controls over financial reporting, including maintaining audit-ready documentation, approvals, and evidence for commission processing.
What is in it for you:
- Opportunity to take ownership of a global sales compensation function spanning financial modelling, commission operations, governance, controls, and payroll execution.
- Exposure to complex compensation structures, enterprise commission platforms, financial controls, risk management, and strategic plan effectiveness initiatives.
- Opportunity to work cross-functionally with senior stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Payroll, Legal, People, and Compliance.
- A high-impact role contributing to seller trust, expense predictability, regulatory compliance, and scalable compensation operations.
