Overview of Position  The Finance Manager holds an important role at Bridge as the executive leading all Finance activities for a Company that is scaling at an unprecedented rate. The company launches in India at scale with the roll out of 4 schools and a 100 new schools every year after that. In India, we will require a finance team to build world-class financial infrastructure for a rapidly scaling multi-unit business. This includes being part of a team that builds robust financial systems, policies, procedures and support team for the business taking into account current and fast growing high volume transactions, headcount, numbers of geographically distributed business units, and the operations multi-country global brand.   The Finance Manager is also able to dive deep into details and think at the ground level. He/she should be able to play offense as a business and systems thinker - scalability of platform, improvements to unit economic and scaling model, global shared services - as well as defense - dealing with leakage, fraud prevention, and air-tight controls in challenging operating environments. He should:  - be comfortable working with the mentality to scrim, scrounge, and bootstrap   - be comfortable with extremely fast paced working environments with aggressive turnaround times  - have a startup mind set to be able to bootstrap and be highly agile to adapt for new ideas, developments and rapid scaling up  Key Responsibilities:   Be part of a team that drives efficient financial systems and processes that span across the different function and business units - this would include everything from cash management, fee payment processes, vendor payments, transport, supply chain and retail business units which will include text books, uniforms, meals and potentially/possibly transport  - Work with team and country leadership to develop a roadmap towards profitability - from each school unit to the entire India unit Towards this, said person must not lose sight of the big picture and drive financial efficiency with an obsessive eye for detail  - Provides value-added insight into business decisions. Uses data and experience to develop and present insights clearly and concisely to decision makers  - Work with business units to ensure judicious operational spending from each business unit   - Mitigates business risks and pursues opportunities.  - Ensures there's an effective and efficient internal controls policy. In that regard is responsible for writing accounting policies and procedures  - Ensures adherence to external regulatory requirements (including Tax and other related regulations)  - Suggests process improvements to system usage patterns for efficiency, tailor system capabilities to meet business needs  - Ensures accuracy and timelines of financial and management reports (including preparation and filling of statutory accounts).  - Uses management reports to summarize performance against strategic goals and present performance against KPIs clearly and concisely to business leaders  - Ensures accounts are regularly reconciled and justified  - Contributes to the innovation of current financial models; builds new models  - Ensures accuracy and timeliness of budgeting/forecasting data  - Evaluates proposed targets against external benchmarks, strategic goals, and historical performance  - Manage relationships with banks and follow a principled approach to bank partner selection  - Ensures accuracy and timeliness of cash forecast  - Aid in the structure of a cash management process that sets an adequate liquidity buffer  - Recommends actions to optimize aspects of internal tax policies  - Establish productive relationships with tax advisors, vendors of tax services, the revenue authorities, and local tax authorities  - Oversee intercompany transactional activity and transfer pricing  - Prepare and review all applicable tax returns and coordinate tax compliance and tax research  - Manage, strategize, and negotiate functions relative to outside tax audits; ensure the flow of information to external auditors  - Contribute to tax planning  Qualifications and Educational Requirements  - At least 10 years of experience within finance, including experience as Finance Manager (5 years minimum)  - Deep experience in accounting and financial operations (including Tax and Treasury) for a Company with hyper growth and complex challenges across a broad scope of work.  - Professional Accounting Qualification  - Strong practical knowledge of IFRS reporting is required.  - Strong background in financial management (systems) with a thorough understanding of financial regulations   - Success operating in environments with high risk of fraud and leakage, particularly in emerging markets   - Be familiar with managing financial processes and risks for extensive field based operations
