Position Overview

The Finance Manager (CPA) will oversee accounting operations, regulatory compliance, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate must have strong experience within the cannabis industry and the ability to navigate complex regulations, cost structures, and audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities (KRAs)

- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger.

- Ensure financial compliance with cannabis regulations, tax laws, and federal/state reporting requirements.

- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

- Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.

- Oversee cost accounting activities including inventory valuation, COGS, and production costing.

- Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory submissions.

- Analyze financial performance and provide insights for operational decision-making.

- Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in operations, supply chain, and compliance.

- Monitor changes in cannabis regulations and ensure timely updates to financial processes.

- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior accounting staff.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Active CPA certification.

- 3+ years of financial management or accounting experience.

- Mandatory experience in the cannabis industry with understanding of regulatory complexity.

- Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax compliance, cost accounting, and inventory management.

- Proficiency with financial systems, ERP platforms, and advanced Excel.

- Ability to manage audits, regulatory reviews, and multi-entity financial structures.

- Strong analytical thinking and ability to interpret financial data.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

- High attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
