About Client The client is a fast-growing deep-tech climate startup helping industries solve water sustainability challenges using AI, IoT, and analytics. They've empowered clients to reduce water usage and cut costs. and recently raised fund in Pre-Series A, they are scaling and looking for passionate changemakers to join the mission. About the Role As our Finance Leader, you'll own the financial operations end-to-end - from revenue, payments, payroll, and compliance to audits, MIS reporting, and P&L insights. You'll work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure financial health and scalability. Key Responsibilities Revenue & Billing - Ensure timely and accurate invoicing - Revenue recognition as per accounting standards - Compute GST, track collections, and manage inventory adjustments Payments & Procurement - Manage end-to-end payment processes (goods/services, capital/revenue) - Apply internal controls, handle vendor payments, and ensure tax compliance Payroll & Compliance - Manage payroll cycles and statutory compliance - Handle onboarding, exits, and employee dues Bookkeeping & Audit - Maintain accurate books using Tally or equivalent - Coordinate statutory audits, provide reconciliations, and ensure timely filing Profit & Loss / MIS - Prepare and analyze weekly P&L statements - Generate MIS reports to drive strategic decision-making Asset & Inventory - Conduct asset audits and maintain tracking systems - Implement best practices in inventory controls Reporting & Forecasting - Submit statutory financial reports - Assist in budgeting, financial forecasting, and investor reports What We're Looking For: Qualifications - Bachelor's/Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Experience & Skills - 5+ years in accounting/finance (preferably in startups) - Hands-on experience with ERP and Excel - Strong grasp of accounting standards, GST, MIS, and data analysis - Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and time management - Effective communicator and team player Compensation & Benefits - Competitive salary + performance incentives - ESOPs as per company policy - Medical insurance - Generous vacation policy & flexible work hours
