About the Role:

Were building a modern home and kitchen electronics brand that elevates everyday rituals through thoughtful functionality and premium design. Helmed by seasoned founders and marquee investors, we are crafting elegant, human-centered products for modern living. As we lay the foundation for the business, we are looking for a Finance Lead with strong FP&A and accounting experience to join the founding team.

This is not just a number-crunching role you will build finance systems from the ground up, develop processes for order-to-cash, PO-to-payment, expense tracking, inventory reconciliation, and cash flow management. Your role will be instrumental in driving financial clarity and operational discipline as we scale our omnichannel (D2C + offline) business.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

- Create and manage budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.

- Track and report monthly budget vs actual performance with variance analysis.

- Partner cross-functionally to build cost structures for new products, categories, and marketing initiatives.

- Develop and maintain KPIs for spend efficiency, inventory health, and unit economics.

Process Setup & Controls:

- Establish SOPs for expense management, vendor payments, revenue reconciliation, and inventory tracking.

- Set up order-to-cash and PO-to-payment processes across D2C, marketplaces, and offline retail.

- Define internal controls and financial discipline mechanisms for a startup environment.

Cash Flow & Treasury:

- Forecast and monitor short-term and long-term cash flows; highlight working capital needs proactively.

- Manage payments, bank relationships, and vendor payouts.

- Evaluate and manage import-related debt instruments such as Letter of Credit (LC), Letter of Undertaking (LOU), bill discounting, and other trade finance tools in collaboration with banking partners to optimize working capital.

Accounting & Bookkeeping:

- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts receivable/payable, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closures.

- Work closely with external CA firms or in-house accountants to ensure accurate books and statutory filings.

- Support year-end audit and tax filing processes.

D2C Finance Ops:

- Set up and reconcile D2C revenue pipelines across website, marketplaces, and payment gateways.

- Track COD returns, cancellations, and settlements in real-time.

- Ensure platform-level reconciliation (Shopify, Amazon, Flipkart, Razorpay, etc.) with ERP/accounting system.

What You Bring?

- 5-7 years of hands-on experience in FP&A, accounting, and finance operations in a D2C or consumer products environment.

- Prior experience in setting up financial processes in a startup or early-stage company is highly preferred.

- Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, cost center tracking, and cash flow management.

- Familiarity with Tally, Excel, and ideally, D2C commerce tools like Shopify, Razorpay, Zoho Books, or similar.

- A problem-solver with a bias for action, high ownership, and comfort working in a zero-to-one environment.
