We are seeking a dynamic and client-focused Virtual CFO / Finance Operations Lead to manage end-to-end finance operations for global clients.
This role is ideal for a Chartered Accountant with experience in Virtual CFO services, Big 4 consulting, or finance outsourcing who can act as a strategic finance partner to founders and leadership teams.
The incumbent will oversee financial reporting, MIS, budgeting, compliance, treasury, audits, and financial planning while ensuring operational excellence and delivering actionable business insights.
The role also requires leading finance teams, managing client relationships, and driving process improvements through technology and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop accurate Management Information System (MIS) reports and business dashboards.
- Perform financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
- Present financial insights and recommendations to senior management and client leadership.
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting exercises.
- Monitor budget performance and conduct variance analysis.
- Assist clients in financial planning and strategic decision-making.
- Develop financial models to support business expansion and investment decisions.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements.
- Coordinate direct and indirect tax compliances with consultants.
- Manage internal controls and governance frameworks.
- Ensure timely filing of financial and regulatory reports.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity positions.
- Optimize fund utilization and treasury operations.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and recommend strategies for improving cash efficiency.
- Coordinate with banks and financial institutions for routine treasury activities.
- Lead statutory, internal, and tax audit engagements.
- Coordinate with auditors and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and compliance records.
- Implement audit recommendations to strengthen financial processes.
- Act as a trusted finance advisor to founders, CXOs, and business leaders.
- Understand client business objectives and provide strategic financial guidance.
- Conduct periodic business review meetings with clients.
- Ensure exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Lead and mentor finance professionals across multiple client engagements.
- Allocate responsibilities, review deliverables, and monitor team performance.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Drive operational efficiency through standardization and automation.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation.
- Implement best practices in accounting and finance operations.
- Work extensively on ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Improve reporting accuracy, turnaround time, and operational efficiency.
Required Skills:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 34 years of Post Qualification Experience (PQE).
- Experience in Virtual CFO, Big 4 Consulting, or Finance Outsourcing.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting standards, and MIS reporting.
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and variance analysis.
- Knowledge of statutory compliance, taxation, and audit coordination.
- Experience in treasury and working capital management.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Zoho Books, or Tally ERP.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with proficiency in financial modeling and reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business partnering abilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in managing client engagements and leading finance teams is highly preferred.
- CA with 34 years PQE in Virtual CFO services, Big 4 firms, consulting, or finance outsourcing.
- Experience handling multiple domestic or international client accounts.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to advise founders and leadership teams.
- Proven capability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-centric environment.
