Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to lead the finance function for our Africa operations. This strategic role demands a high-caliber finance professional with deep expertise in treasury management, financial controls, and regulatory compliance across African jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong commercial mindset, robust governance orientation, and the ability to operate in complex, multicultural environments.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Control

- Lead all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for Africa operations

- Ensure robust internal controls and compliance with IFRS/local GAAP and statutory requirements

- Drive cost optimization, working capital efficiency, and financial discipline across business units

Treasury & Cash Flow Management

- Oversee treasury operations including cash flow forecasting, fund management, and FX risk mitigation

- Manage banking relationships, credit lines, and capital structuring for local and cross-border operations

- Ensure liquidity planning and optimal deployment of funds across African entities

Compliance & Governance

- Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns, statutory audits, and regulatory submissions

- Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and legal advisors to ensure full compliance

- Implement and monitor risk management frameworks and financial policies

Stakeholder Engagement

- Partner with business heads to support strategic decision-making and commercial negotiations

- Interface with local government authorities, financial institutions, and JV partners

- Present financial insights and performance updates to global leadership and board

Candidate Profile

- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 18-20 years of post-qualification experience

- Proven track record as Financial Controller / Head of Finance in Africa or emerging markets

- Strong command of treasury operations, cash flow management, and financial governance

- Experience in mining, manufacturing, or infrastructure sectors preferred

- Ability to lead multicultural teams and navigate complex regulatory landscapes

- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking skills
