About the Organization:
A global capability centre (GCC) for a leading international retail group, based in Bengaluru. The organization builds competitive capabilities in Technology, Data Sciences, and Business Services to enable its retail brands to deliver best-in-class in-store and online customer experiences.
Role Purpose:
This role will lead all control, accounting, and financial planning & analysis (FP&A) activities for the organization globally. It is critical to delivering accurate and timely financial reports and forecasts, and providing insightful analysis to the executive team for decision-making. The role will also support the organization's expansion into new international jurisdictions and help shape the governance and compliance frameworks required to operate in complex, multi-country environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting:
- Own complete and accurate monthly financial close across all legal entities.
- Liaise with JV and group finance teams to ensure accurate close.
- Ensure all transactions are booked per financial policy and accounting standards.
- Manage end-to-end onboarding of new customers.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly financial reports and KPIs; align with stakeholders on format and content.
- Prepare board and group reports accurately and on time.
- Report on financial performance, highlight risks/opportunities, and recommend action plans.
- Work with external stakeholders on statutory/group reporting requirements.
FP&A:
- Lead preparation of annual budgets and forecasts with the leadership team.
- Finalize targets in consultation with leadership; translate business strategy into financial plans.
- Analyze actuals vs. budget/forecast; deliver actionable insights and drive follow-through.
- Prepare ad hoc business performance analysis as required.
Controlling:
- Monitor and report business KPIs, flag risks and opportunities.
- Ensure timely AR collection and minimize credit exposure.
- Ensure timely, accurate order processing and supplier payments.
- Maintain financial policies (DOA, credit limits) in line with business needs.
Corporate & Governance:
- Liaise with legal, tax, JV, and leadership on corporate secretarial matters.
- Review and help finalize agreements from a financial control perspective.
- Support cross-functional projects and drive continuous process improvement.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Chartered Accountant (or equivalent professional qualification); Master's preferred.
- 10 - 15 years of relevant experience, including senior stakeholder management.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/accounting standards and ERP systems (e.g., SAP), with exposure to RTR, OTC, and PTP processes.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and end-to-end accounting process management.
- Track record of managing financial controls, driving process improvements, and building high-performing teams.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-paced, multi-country environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority.

- Currently at a GCC (Global Capability Centre) or a large product-based/multinational organization.
- Demonstrated experience managing finance/controlling functions across multiple geographies or complex jurisdictions.
