Description: Finance Controller for a large manufacturing org in West Delhi

1. Company Profile:

A 1,000+ crore family-owned, professionally managed organization engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of high-technology consumer durables.

The company operates two manufacturing facilities and runs SAP ERP for enterprise-wide financial and operational management.

The organization has ambitious growth plans to scale revenue to 5,000 crore over the next four years, requiring strong financial governance, cost leadership, and strategic financial planning.

Finance Controller

3. Function:

Finance & Accounts

4. Reporting To:

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

5. Location:

Corporate office on Rohtak Road, with oversight of two manufacturing plants

6. Role Purpose:

The Finance Controller will be responsible for end-to-end financial control, financial reporting, manufacturing finance, statutory compliance, working capital management, and financial governance.

The role will strengthen financial discipline, internal controls, and cost leadership while partnering with business leadership to support the companys rapid scale-up from 1,000 crore to 5,000 crore revenue.

7. Key Responsibilities:

A. Financial Accounting & Reporting:

- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Ind AS and statutory requirements.

- Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and inter-unit accounting.

- Manage financial consolidation across Corporate Office and manufacturing plants.

- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes with strong financial discipline.

- Coordinate statutory audits, internal audits, and cost audits, ensuring minimal audit observations.

- Strengthen financial reporting frameworks and management dashboards.

B. Manufacturing & Plant Finance:

- Lead plant finance and manufacturing cost control across both facilities.

- Monitor and optimize manufacturing and conversion costs, including:

Material consumption

Yield and process efficiency

Scrap and wastage

Overhead absorption

- Implement and strengthen standard costing frameworks and variance analysis.

- Ensure accurate valuation of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventories.

- Partner with plant leadership, supply chain, and operations to drive cost efficiency and productivity improvements.

- Develop cost analytics to support pricing, margin improvement, and profitability enhancement.

C. Taxation & Statutory Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with Income Tax, GST, Companies Act, and other statutory regulations.

- Manage direct tax assessments, notices, and departmental interactions.

- Oversee GST compliance including returns, reconciliations, and audits.

- Monitor regulatory compliance including FEMA/SEBI requirements (if applicable).

D. Cash Flow, Treasury & Working Capital:

- Lead cash flow planning, forecasting, and liquidity management.

- Optimize working capital efficiency, focusing on:

Receivables management

Inventory optimization

Payables management

- Liaise with banks and financial institutions for:

Credit facilities

Renewals and documentation

Banking compliance

- Support treasury strategies to optimize borrowing costs and capital efficiency.

E. Internal Controls, SAP & Governance:

- Strengthen Internal Financial Controls (IFC) and financial governance frameworks across locations.

- Ensure robust financial controls and reporting within SAP ERP, including:

Master data governance

Authorization matrices

Periodic system audits

- Drive SOP standardization across corporate and plant finance operations.

- Ensure adherence to delegation of authority and corporate governance frameworks.

F. Strategic Finance & Business Partnering:

- Act as a finance business partner to leadership teams across sales, operations, supply chain, and manufacturing.

- Provide financial insights for strategic decision-making, including pricing, margin improvement, and investment evaluation.

- Support the CFO in budgeting, financial planning, and long-term business strategy.

- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior leadership.

G. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management:

- Lead and mentor finance teams at Corporate Office and manufacturing plants.

- Build a high-performance finance culture focused on governance and accountability.

- Manage relationships with auditors, consultants, bankers, and regulatory authorities.

- Support CFO and leadership team in financial decision-making and governance matters.

8. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

- Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and closing cycles

- Manufacturing cost control and margin improvement

- Working capital efficiency and cash flow management

- Audit outcomes and regulatory compliance status

- Financial governance and internal control effectiveness

- Quality of financial insights supporting business decisions

JOB SPECIFICATION

1. Educational Qualifications:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) Mandatory

- ICWA / MBA (Finance) Preferred

2. Experience:

- 15 to 18 years of post-qualification experience

- Minimum 57 years in senior finance leadership roles in manufacturing

- Experience in multi-plant manufacturing operations essential

3. Technical & Functional Skills:

- Strong expertise in Ind AS and statutory reporting

- Deep understanding of manufacturing costing and inventory accounting

- Hands-on experience in direct taxation and GST compliance

- Strong working knowledge of SAP ERP (FI/CO modules)

- Advanced proficiency in Excel, MIS automation, and financial analytics

4. Leadership & Behavioral Competencies:

- Strategic thinking and strong analytical capability

- High integrity and governance orientation

- Ability to work effectively in a family-owned, professionally managed environment

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

- Ability to lead change and build high-performing finance teams
