We are hiring Finance Controller for a manufacturing company.

Position Offered: Finance Controller

Functional Area: Finance

Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Location: Belgaum, Karnataka

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

- Lead the accounting function and ensure timely and accurate closure of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts.

- Prepare Quarterly and Annual Financial Statements.

- Ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards (Ind AS / IFRS / Companies Act).

- Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors for audit completion and issue resolution.

- Periodical review of ledger accounts and taking necessary actions

- Provide guidance and leadership to Accounts and Finance Team.

2. Compliance & Governance

- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including Income Tax, GST, TDS, DGFT, Customs and other related regulatory obligations.

- Liaise with tax consultants, auditors, and regulatory bodies as required.

- Implement and monitor effective internal control framework and financial policies, esp. for:

- Delegation of authority matrix

- Internal control for financial reporting

- SOPs and Policies

- Statutory Compliance processes and tools

- Provide timely response to Tax and other notices.

- Timely close all Advance licenses, EPCG licenses

- Comply with the necessary regulatory obligations

- Manage Board Agenda items and Board Certification relating to Finance & Accounts with close co-ordination with Company Secretary

3. Banking & Treasury

- Managing Long term borrowings, working capital limits, Credit Rating as well as surplus fund investments

4. Systems, Processes & Team Management

- Strengthen accounting systems, ERP processes, and automation initiatives.

- Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounts team to enhance capability and performance.

- Drive continuous improvement in financial operations and reporting efficiency.

5. Direct and Indirect Tax Compliances:

- Ensuring compliances of applicable Direct tax (Income Tax) including filing Annual Income Tax Returns, periodic TDS returns, handling Tax Audits, scrutiny assessments, appeals etc.

- Indirect taxes (VAT / GST etc.) in India including tax planning to ensure tax optimization.

6. Corporate Development

- Reviewing Accounting Policies, Governance Framework, Tax & Banking related pointers of the Target Co.

- Reviewing DD outcomes and working out a plan for its addressal along with the Deal Team & advisors

- Drive integration plan post acquisition in Accounting, Governance Framework, Banking and Taxation

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and statutory compliances.

- Analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.

- Leadership and team management skills.

- Excellent communication and coordination ability across departments.

- Proficiency in ERP/accounting software

Qualification & Experience:

- Chartered Accountant.
