Duties of the Finance Controller
- Lead the Finance function from Bangalore, supported by a team out of Bangalore, India
- Take charge of accounting according to US GAAP, monthly accounts closing on timely basis and coordination on annual audit.
- Financial reporting monthly - Finance Controller is expected to work closely with the -C-Suite executives to create the appropriate reporting that helps taking- actions.
- Take responsibility for the General Ledger to be in accordance with US GAAP.
- Experience on ERPs like QuickBooks, SAGE Intacct preferred.
- Process oriented and ability to develop control frameworks, processes, and drive creation of- SOPs.
- Ensure robustness of A/P, A/R, Treasury, and payroll processes by proactively leading- changes that are required.
- Manage and lead on budgeting, variance analysis, forecasting and analysis; manage -key- financial metrics and come up with new metrics based on need; create insights and analysis- for management /leadership.
- Proficient in identifying situations that need US GAAP application and a high level of- familiarity with ASCs or other such standards codification.
- Cost management, proactive implementation of cost management measures, providing- analysis, what -if-scenarios on cost management
- Drive and collaborate on governance, board meetings
- Work with the principal holding company, as and when required including- funding and similar such other activities.
- Actively collaborate with other functions like Sales & Marketing, Customer success to- achieve revenue growth and profitability objectives
- Manage cash and treasury, Analysis and forecast of cash.
- Ability to interpret accounting transactions and come up with statements of position.
- Work with Audit firm and partners as and when required. Supporting Audit through the team- providing information and provide inputs in Audit discussions. Ability to handle and- coordinate audit related support.
- Ad hoc support, supervision as required by management.

While it is given that the person should be willing to work occasionally in US time zones
- Ability to offer direction to the team in India while being cognizant of the requirements from- leadership.
Professional Qualifications/Skills
- Professional Accounting qualification like CPA/CA/CMA with 8 to10 years of post-qualification experience is preferred,
- B. Com or a similar qualification with 15 years of similar experience can be considered.
- Familiarity with the compliance environment of midsized US organizations and requirements.
- Knowledge of and experience applying US GAAP.
- Experience in QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, ZOHO or similar systems experience preferred.
- Excellent PowerPoint skills are a plus
- Resilience, ability to work through ambiguity, conversational ability, flexibility.
